“Ballplayer?” Ballplayer? Kid, you’re an average high school wannabe who isn’t the worst headcase attitude problem in recent Milford history only because Adam Mundy existed, and Mundy at least had SOME talent. Your athletic future tops out at playing in the county co-ed softball loop, about ten minutes after you graduate.

P1, Too bad he didn’t take the ants, too.

P2, Buffalo Bob was shocked when he found out Howdy Doody was damaged goods.

P3, Yeah, he turned you into the only Milford ballplayer that didn’t at least get a college letter.

So this is the first hint Barry has had from his mother that maybe his attitude leaves something to be desired?

Barry needed to see it in black and white, so I guess the story didn’t make the news back when it happened.

Yes, yes, he damaged you, it was…exposure to industrial solvents. They stunted your growth, all the other males in the family were 5’10" or taller.

So the hot temper, the failure to take responsibility, the delusional attitude, the crappy personality….none of that is the parenting failure. The big failure is his dad made him a ball player!

DD is doing an awesome job. I see why it was so important for Mrs. B to have her there.

Based on Panel 3, I’d say Mom Bader also didn’t help Barry out, in the looks department.

If his father had been with the Pythons, they would have turned him into a Newt

Wait!!! I get it. Dad turned him into a ballplayer. Which taught him to be competitive. If Mom had stepped in, he would be much happier and have a participation trophy. DD will write a 6am expose on the evils of competition leaving Gil without a team so we actually can go to the Milford CC or the lake. Of course without a team to coach these stories really will slow down won’t they.
