The 3,364 residents of Glasgow are now thinking Oh, great. Now the tourists are going to start coming!

I am thinking that the middle of nowhere is the US version, I imagine that there are towns in Asia (Siberia, Eastern China) far more remote

EF5 tornadoes have wind speeds of more than 200 miles per hour so do they have two or three times more than the world’s nuclear weapons combined?

    Take care. God loves you.

Tom Dempsey was an NFL kicker, who had been born with half a foot. (Also missing fingers on his right hand.) I think at one time, other teams were trying to outlaw his kicking shoe. He kicked a 63 yard field goal, which up to that time, the record. It has since been broken by a kick that was one yard further.

From this article:“Of all towns with more than 1,000 residents, Glasgow, home to 3,363 people in the rolling prairie of northeastern Montana, is farthest — about 4.5 hours in any direction — from any metropolitan area of more than 75,000 people.”

Glasgow may be the most remote in the lower 48 states, but I think Barrow, Alaska probably beats Glasgow by this criterion.

Interesting that Glasgow got that rating (for the US), since Copper Harbor MI is accepted as the farthest in the US from an Interstate Highway. One wonders what criteria were used, and those poor people with extra visitors.

Is Glasgow, Montana on the Great Northern (BNSF) mainline? If so, several hundred pass through daily on the Empire Builder.

There was place kicker for the New Orleans Saints with a deformed kicking foot that kicked a record setting field goal quite a few years back!

I just read a few facts worth commenting about. Number one was that five pregnant cockroaches could grow to 45 million in a year under ideal conditions; but I’d rather see snake population grow as far as garters, ribbons, and other ones with harmless bites and wish I could acquire snake pheromones. Another one told about how a girl survived a shark attack by beating it away with her boogie board, but I have a better idea on how to survive shark attacks, and that’s to stay out of the freakin’ water. Finally, I read that there was this one bird that will grow the right colored feathers to disguise itself as a caterpillar that’s toxic to keep predators away; and there’s a little cartoon drawing that says, “Shhhh, I’m a bird,” so naturally I couldn’t help but think I’m a bird. I’m a plane. I’m Superman, or as I like to call it, soup or man.

Take care and God loves you.

Here are a couple more funny ones I saw while looking at random Ripley’s Believe it or Not strips. A dude had an epitaph that read something like if it is money that you’re wanting, dig four feet deep; and you’ll find a penny. Somehow I have a feeling he didn’t get any takers on that deal. I’ll never stop picking up pennies if I see them, but I certainly wouldn’t dig four feet into the ground to get one. I also read that because of over population in cemeteries in Brazil, they put a ban on dying. Somehow I doubt that people were able to keep that law since death is basically inevitable, and there’s no getting around it unless the Lord returns within your lifetime, and He obviously still hasn’t done that.

Take care and God loves you.
