    I love how Phoebe’s mermaid tail in the drawing is the same green color as her pants in real life.

    Phoebe and Ariel would definitely get along so well.

    LOL @ “Gracilara Heavenly Blowhole” XD ..

    Sometimes, I find myself wishing the original title of this strip had stuck. _;

    A mermaid wearing a t-shirt? Blame depletion of the ozone layer.

    This is like the African or European swallow quandary. Do you want to know who invented a mechanical computer(Charles Babbage) or an electronic computer(John Mauchly and J. Presper Ecker)?

    This may hinge upon how one defines “computer.” Dandelion Bonny Nose may have invented the abacus, which could be considered an elementary type of computer, so both Phoebe (and her depicted narwhal character) and Marigold could be right. Since unicorns embody many opposites (“full of ancient wisdom, yet as naive as a child” is just one of them), this episode is entirely in-character for a unicorn.

    “Human propaganda”

    Does this mean our lives have been a lie?

    The question this leaves me then…is which is really the propaganda? Because seeing that unicorns all tend to be a tad egotistical, I wouldn’t put it past them to take credit for somebody else’s invention too.

    There are more things in heaven and earth, Phoebe, than are dreamt of in your unicorn……

    This is hitting too close to home. One day my mom asked me what I learned in school today. I told her that whales spout air instead of water as depicted in cartoons. My mom said, “Oh no, they spout water.” “But my teacher says they spout air.” “Then your teacher is wrong!” If I had been a little more attentive, I should have had my mom go to the school to set my teacher straight, and then go to the local university marine sciences department to tell them the truth too. After all, she’s the whale expert.

    There’s a theory that unicorns were invented when explorers talked of quadrupeds in Africa with a horn on their heads. Europeans couldn’t picture a rhinoceros, but they did know about narwhals and horses. Combine the two, and you have a unicorn.

    She’s expected to know the computer inventor in elementary school?
