Is he forgetting that Penelope never wanted the job? He, and everyone else there wanted her to be Editor, and now she’s being one. Like it or not, she’s right!

If they really want to save Philo, they need to get out there and look for something, anything that could help his case. Instead, they just want to yell out conspiracy theories to each other. They want to be investigative reporters, so why don’t they start investigating?!!!

Yup, they have forgotten that they wanted Penelope to be Editor. Kudos to her for wanting to stick to the facts and not make stuff up.

Go investigate Security, you reporters! Arrange an interview with Freeman. The rats probably would not be shy in telling the reporters that Security did indeed order the execution. And that the reporters had better toe the line or else they’ll be next in line for hanging.

I think that that crew suggested Penelope for the job because they thought they’d be able to push her around. Remember how passive she was? They thought they’d print their “cheap, biased innuendo” and Penelope would get any fallout dumped on her. And when cat-boy’s request to run the story was denied, he tried to manipulate her with guilt. I was wondering what this crew was doing, worried that they might be trying to print more stories that would stir further problems. Hopefully Penelope will stick to her ethics.

The last public execution didn’t solve anything, it just created a calm before the storm.

One of the more blatant threads in this arc is that everyone overreacts, starts screaming about everyone else being out of the loop, and then how they themselves are innocent victims here. They’ve stopped listening to themselves.

Security is making a rookie dictator mistake. When you publicly execute people without trial for “subversive behavior” you want to scare the rest of the population into being cowed to your will, but you risk the opposite effect. If enough of the people identify with the guy you’re executing, or he was executed for something a large portion of the population might do themselves, you could find yourself facing a massive revolt that ends with your head on a pike. Killing reporters is often a big red flag to populations since it means the government is trying to censor facts. Right now I think the reporters need to work with mayor Jackrabbit since security is quickly becoming their common enemy.

Their entire community is being threatened by these factions. They need to come together to brainstorm the known facts. Anything less is not going to save them.

Does anyone know anything about the female duck in glasses? I see her a lot in the background and with the other reporters, but I never see any talk balloons coming from her. Also what happened to the eavesdropping giraffe? Are there spies among the reporters and if so, who are they spying for?

A newspaper that does nothing but regurgitate the point of view of mainstream sources has lost all credibility.
