And of course it is puzzle nite Friday, or puzzle Saturday. And we get an excerpt from our current Sam Basset adventure:

    http://www.comicssherpa.com/site/feature?uc_comic=cscwy

Are you going to track all of the spots on his pajamas? And how could he have filled that ashtray in so little time?

Never fear, Susan will be here soon with the side-by-side which will make the solution obvious!

    I’m here, my Puzzle People…

    I’m here!

I actually thought I’d be here on time tonight….. but Life always tries to make sure it remians a mystery.

And yes…. Sam Basset, ace detective and … gasp! … apparently chain smoker (BAD dog!) is puzzling over the case…

    while we puzzle over him…

    Dunno about instantly apparent…

    But hope this version

    helps:

You’re welcome Dennis… and anybody who likes using a side-by-side version.

It seems funny that Sherpa allows the exact same area, vertically…

but horizontally it’s too wide to be a cartoon.

Oh well… I’ll just have to keep rearranging it.

Meanwhile, I forgot to say, for benefit of anyone seeking the right spot…

(or for any strangers wondering what we’re talking about)…

This is where we’re discussing the Saturday puzzle in

the Nov 14th  2020 “CLEO and COMPANY” on Sherpa…

And we’ll be back right here tomorrow….

to comment on the Nov 15th  2020 strip as well,

having passed the date in 2010 when Ballard Street dropped down to only six days a week.

BTW… Clara, above, bears no relation to our Clara…

who is quite proud of her cleverness, being one of the clever Cliffords.

They, of course, include Cleveland’s most cleverly creative canine, Cleo.

The Cliffords, you know, spend most of their days working in this comic.

This is probably the longest hiatus they’ve had in ages.

Sam Basset has been here for two whole weeks, while Claude, Clara and Cleo have been on a well-deserved vacation.

Yes, I know, we saw them on the weekend…

But I already admitted that Saturday’s puzzle was a re-run….

and Sunday’s strip, I’ll just say, was filmed far in advance.

I don’t know whether they’ve actually gone anywhere, or, if so, they’ll be back in Cleveland tomorrow.

Cleo did want to go to Disneyland, but she had a huge fit when Clara told her that NO weapons are allowed through the gate…

and she MUST not sneak even a knife or a slingshot.

Imagine being kicked out of Disneyland over your dog’s hidden bazooka!

I didn’t want to mention my suspicion that they might not allow a dog, either.

I got all of them. I’m worried that Sam Basset didn’t lock his door to prevent somebody from the GC syndicate from coming in there and eliminating him. The other guy had his door locked. Did they check the window?

    Time to post my solution….

Remember… we’ve given up the mechanical perfection of the beautiful gifs spun by the semi-anonymous animation-solution-maker PERFECTIONISTA.

The solutions these days are hand created, by me… and I am one of you.

Any tiny errors and imperfections are part of what I HOPE is their hand spun appeal.

If you find any, I hope they don’t detract from the serviceability of the finished product…

but if they do, please let me know gently.

    Thank you!

Be sure you have done your best… as ever…

and then check here for today’s sample of my handiwork.

    https://i.postimg.cc/nLqgYyH8/Cleo-solution-Nov-14th-2020.png

    Hope you found them all!

    Hope I did too!

Good morning, Ballardeers! Q Date: 246.98470.84 and a bad sleep night for me.

I kinda like smart clever as long as it doesn’t come across as smart-a$$. Unfortunately, I can only do the latter.

If Sam keeps smoking like that, he won’t make the end of the trip.

Y’all keep your stick on the ice. (((((Hugs)))))

I can’t access Susan’s images. I made my own side-by-side, but I can only find 7. I’ll have to try an over-lay to see if I can find the rest of the differences.

As I said above: Susan’s links work if you use Neil Wicks’ GC links applet. just don’t peek at the answers until you’re ready…

Well, I still couldn’t load the side by side, so I tried to do the vertical. I was only able to stand this to get 5. Boy has Susan got us trained!

So, I then tried to load the solution, and guess what? It didn’t load either! Harrumph!

Late Saturday: So if you use this link NOW, you will get Cleo and Company for Nov 15:

    http://www.comicssherpa.com/site/feature?uc_comic=cscwy

As usual Cleo has the most powerful equipment available. Claude, she can’t hear you through those ear protectors! She believes in cleaning up all the trash that falls from the trees.

Claude did not know that the squirrels in his yard were flying squirrels. So are the cats, for that matter.

Cleo got that thing via eBuy from a user named “Diamond Lil”. – Works nicely, but Lil gets a stronger model every year.

That evil cat will get his revenge when Cleo eats her kibble and then finds the message at the bottom of the bowl that says “Have fun the rest of the day from all the laxative that was in the kibble. Your enemy, EVIL CAT. HA HA HA”.

Greetings, my Cleo family and puzzle fans…

Glad to see everybody making it back to this page for the the Nov 15th  2020 “CLEO and COMPANY.”

I guess we’ll get used to this two-fer idea.

Speaking of two-fers… Cleo has one going on, doesn’t she…

    it’s a leafblower AND a weapon…

    AND a fun toy.

    Oooh… that’s a three-fer.

It would be a FOUR-fer if only the cats and squirrels would appreciate their little carnival ride…. but it’s OK…

I think Cleo prefers tormenting them.

Meanwhile… I apologise for the problems most of you are having with my puzzle images…

I do think it’s the hosting site.

I had no idea, because they looked just fine to me, and still do…

And I had to be gone today when I would normally have been checking back to see your replies.

It makes no sense that they work for some people and not others… or with Neil’s applet but not by pasting the link.

    And yet it’s true.

I was going to try uploading them again to get new links… but I couldn’t reach the site…

So… I’m seeing images hosted there, even when it’s down… but most of you can’t.

I’ve realised that my plan wouldn’t work anyway…

that site recognises a re-uploaded image, and returns the same link.

I’d appreciate it if anyone would try again later and see whether it has sprung back to life.

    Thanks.

I keep looking for another simple image host, so we don’t have to depend on the vagaries of this one.

    I don’t want a membership, or albums… especially a “Susan’s Images” page instead of a direct link.

All the sites I’ve used or explored, except postimage.org, are now either defunct, complicated, or don’t link directly to the images.

Some even try to sell MY work to visitors in frames or on mugs… and/or want membership fees…. no.

    If anybody has a thought….

Can we ‘borrow’ Cleo to come clean our driveway on the next snow day? That sure looks like it’d do the job.
