Interesting how morons like Gator can make snow into a racial issue…better look at the news reports about the Atlanta Airport, where almost NOTHING is “Rising”…it’s ALL sitting on the runway!
Someone needs to explain to me how the goobers running around with the Confederate Battle flags flying from their rusted out pickups, and there are a LOT of them here in Kentucky, by the way, can claim to be the “Only Real Loyal Americans”, when they are flying the flag of a Wannabe Country that DECLARED WAR ON THE LEGITIMATE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES!!
I myself am tired of people complaining about Confederate flags and statues. They are part of our history. If those people can’t stand it then they should leave!
Well, yes, those things are part of our history. A shameful part of history. The flags and statues belong in museums, not being worshiped by racists at the public expense. The flags might be appropriate at some civil war re-enactments, if they are what was used in the particular battles re-enacted. Other than that, they are just a reminder to part of the population of a war intended only to maintain slavery. And the statues were to make heroic those who betrayed their country.
While at Ft Benning they had some snow and an Ice storm of sorts icy roads. Being a westerner and skier, watching the walkers, let alone drivers, go nuts was quite the entertainment. Spent a while just watching cars fly off at a T intersection at the end of a bridge. They kept at it even after I put my flares out to try to warn ‘em and end the carnage. Might explain why they lost the war, and still don’t admit it??
Of all the valid things to fault the South for, being unprepared for unprecedented weather is the lamest. They don’t have the infrastructure for it because they don’t have to deal with it most of the time.
Rather, they “didn’t” have to: That is changing, and we can fault the ones who pretend it isn’t.
Note that Anderson is published by the Washington Post, so this may be more sympathetic than it appears.
Having grown up in North Carolina and now living in Boston, I can see the differences. In the South, they don’t have sand trucks, they don’t have plows, and they don’t have drivers experienced in driving in snow! So an inch of snow becomes actively dangerous there, in a way it won’t be in Boston, when it is quickly plowed, salted, and sanded.
The majority of the “Southern” states receive more in Federal funding than they pay in Federal taxes, remain clustered at the low end of all the quality of life indexes, and continue to talk about seceding until there’s some type of disaster. Then they want the Fed there ASAP to clean it up no matter what the cost.
What I don’t understand is that with all those folks wanting to return to a defeated past, why aren’t there also large numbers of Americans flying British flags and agitating for a return to colonial rule?

Closer to God I’d rather be, on the Blue Nose in a snowy brisk breeze, than walking backwards with a Southern alt-right flake.

@SFCGaTor, the ones fomenting “racial divide” are the ones carrying tiki torches.

Yo, Sneaker. If you are so in tune with anti-American treason, maybe it’s you should go searching for your confederate paradise.

Even General Lee opposed those statues.

Is the South blaming the North for snowfall? What is SFGator arguing?
