Tommy, your traffic cone Christmas tree could warm even the grinchiest heart.
Also I’ve figured out what time the new comics get uploaded for my timezone and have been staying up past my proper bedtime to read them immediately. I may have an addiction to BCN.
Tommy’s beautiful, sunny smile in panel 2. His inner jar of Christmas lights is most certainly shining through at over peak capacity! He’s a sweet meow. Good morning/evening BCN Mega Orbsters! Hope you all are snuggly and warm today.
Love the jaunty angle of Tommy’s bobble hat. And the way Elvis is looking at his (Tommy-supplied) mittens as he answers the question, is he warm enough.
I purely love Elvis’ body language in the last panel, so dubious about following Tommy out into the snow. Yum Yum went out this morning and came in complaining bitterly that her feet got cold and she got snow on her fur. She is now sitting in the window, glaring at the falling snow.
Reminds me of when we moved from England to Canada with our cat. At the first snow, she put one paw outside and shot back in the house. She used her litterbox for the rest of the year. She was a BRITISH cat!
Clearly free range, and natural cut. None of that fussy shaping and symmetry.
I have to go hunt and gather one for myself today-always look for the scraggly ones, since I can give them a good home. At the end of the season I put them out on the backyard for the winter, to shelter the birds a bit. In the spring they get chipped, and the circle of life continues… in some areas here in Oregon they also sink them in streams as fish habitat, slows erosion, provides spawning cover, a place to rest your tired fins.
Whew, whiteout! These lake effect snow bands are something! Sooooo glad I don’t live at the S/E end of the horizontal Great Lakes! They REALLY get clobbered!
I wish the best for the folks in those areas, and any place dealing with the white stuff. My Dusty lies on his blanket next to the patio door, looking for the mysterious kitty that visited again last night. Still some food left from yesterday so I hope, hope, HOPE it’s just a visitor with a home to go to! Got leaves under my deck where it could nest, Just never SEE it!Keepin’ an eye out! :-{

When I was in 6th grade, a new rule came down from the school board that teachers could no longer have live, lighted Christmas trees in their classrooms for fire safety reasons. This was in the days when the only artificial trees were those very expensive aluminum tinsel type trees. Most teachers solved the problem by putting a one dimensional construction paper tree on their bulletin boards and running off purple passion coloring book style ornaments for the kids to color with crayons, cut out, and thumbtack to the tree. Fortunately, my teacher was more creative. She made a Christmas tree by bending chicken wire into a large cone and then covering it with green foil wrapping paper. Then instead of giving us identical coloring sheets, she handed out construction paper, scissors and that lovely paste that tasted like peppermint, and let us each create our own ornament. Then we each taped our ornament to the tree. We all thought it was the most beautiful Christmas tree ever. Whenever I see Tommy’s traffic cone tree, it reminds me of that chicken wire tree, and my favorite teacher.
I would like to thank everyone for their prayers and warm wishes for my sister. She died this morning. I guess she waited too long before deciding to fight the cancer. I am grateful that she was able to call me on my birthday. I am also grateful that she is no longer in pain. Her cancer was a horendously painful one and pain has always been really hard for her to bear. I won’t be able to attend her funeral… she was in Idaho and I am in Oregon.
I do wish many of my “likes” would stay put! I’ve had to re-like dozens of times today! Hope this improves. Good night from snowy Hoosierland and sweet dreams, dear orbsters! >^.,.^<

Tommy will get Elvis home, never fear! How many times has Elvis poofed his tail when he saw Tommy in the window?

I love the fact that Tommy can open and close the door of the green house—that’s not a glitch, he really is that smart! :D
