During the run-up to the Presidential election, Trump occasionally blow smoke during his “speeches” about disbanding the IRS. Whatever happened to that idea?
For those not born into wealth, there was the opportunity to work hard, scrimp and save, to educate themselves to acquire a better life … through privatization and profit, even that avenue is being shut down. The wealthy,by supporting both opposing political parties, has assured their own unhampered future quasi-feudalism. The current administration, benefitting from low voter turnout, was able to coalesce lowest common denominator xenophobic beliefs and fears of diversity to win office and make scapegoats of the most feared minorities in a most un-American way knowing that an impotent Congress -- divided internally -- will not make any effort to impede the decimation of the middle class.
To all those who keep saying “Just one more time, we’ll prove Supply-side Economics works yet!” – it reminds me of the old saying “Walk a mile in another man’s shoes; then you’ll be a mile away and have his shoes.”
Trump, once again, will attack and alienate his clueless supporters without them ever noticing or caring, while dragging the rest of us down with them.
Picking up where W left off, they had such a great recession until Obama came along and messed it up. They’ll get it back to where the only people making anything are the rich. That is all Republicans actually do.
How on earth do you expect America to recover after these hurricanes, if we don’t give tax cuts to the super wealthy ASAP? Middle class stop being so selfish and do what’s right for the deserving rich.
The rich.. are already sitting on more cash then they can ever use.. Now.. they are going to invest and create more jobs.. Dream on! The only investment they “might” make is to automate more.. thus laying off even more workers.
My mother votes straight ticket GOP, because she is sure they are the party of Christian and Family values. She is sure the Dems only stand for “free stuff to lazy people.” If you try to discuss the economy and the abject failure of supply-side economics, she just gets bored. There are LOTS of people like her.
Just once I’d like to hear a Republican admit that, in a system with progressive marginal rates based on income, a tax cut in the lowest rate would ALSO be a tax cut for the rich. (Of course, the rich people wouldn’t notice it, but, then again, they wouldn’t notice it if you upped their rates a few percentage points. They would whine, cry, and pout, of course, to make sure you never upped their rates more than the aforementioned few percentage points……..)

Hmm, through the heart, might be the only way to stop bloodsucking from Trump.

WORDS ENDING WITH “…formed” {1.20 limericks and a coda}
Trump has us mis-informed: -
- Our tax-system won’t be “reformed”
‘cept to make it more conformed
to lining Some’s pockets
while trouble sky-rockets
as our nation gets distorted, deformed.
… Coda:
The Middle Class stays uninformed,
hence inert as if chloroformed.
