I had originally put yesterday’s strip as the climax of the story in my storyline map (http://worldofdt.info/banksoplenty/) but I decided at the last minute to remove that label.
While yesterday was an important turning point in the story, it was really only the beginning of the climactic scene. The climax certainly continues today as Blackjack goes more deeply into the smoke and the burning building while his helpers get people out
One possible storyline: Blackjack is injured while saving someone, then hospitalized and arrested. Tracy and Sparkle are character witnesses at Blackjack’s trial.
What will our quixotic heroic villain find as he makes his way deeper into the burning bank? Will he be blackjacked by a hidden Hickman? Will he find Hickman down and raise him to life anew, as a convict? Will Blackjack be confronted by an armed Frankie-boy and finally have to use his tommy-gun “for real”?
Is the Fire Department on the scene yet?
What are Sam and Tracy doing to help Blackjack’s gang with the evacuation(!)?
Let me guess. BlackJack catches Hickman trying to destroy incriminating evidence. Tracy rushes in & catches everyone red-handed, & decides to let BlackJack go in thanks for catching Hickman. Maybe this story will be wrapped up this week & we’ll see Ugly Christine.
SAM’S SCHOOL FOR SUPERVILLAINS – New York, Chicago, Fresno – Lesson #43: Not Cut Out For It.We normally don’t even have to teach such strategies as grab-n-go (even if there is a fire) to the determined student. This poor guy above would have to learn such things. By his actions, he has shown that, try as he might, he’s just not supervillain material. Much as it pains us to say this, he really needs to look into joining the police academy. (No wonder his henchmen are wearing full-face masks… they’re probably embarassed.)
I am but a simple man. If Blackjack’s robbing a bank, the scene hasn’t ended, and no mention of Tubthumping having stopped (even though there’s been no explicit mention of it having started) I assume Tubthumping is still playing in the background:

Blackjack, the thief with a heart made of gold
youll amount to nothing is all he was told
he robbing of banks to which he’s resorted
his crimes to the FBI are reported
Tho brandishing a gun as he steals from the rich
no harm to the innocent is his one wish
A fan of Tracy and kin it is known
his collection to Sparkle, it has been shown
Saved Tracy from death at the hands of Kavader
our hero turns a blind eye, ignoring the matter
a previous robbery had gone aborted
harmed not hide nor hair but my eyes they were covered
no view from his lair would be discovered
the collection was signed, then posed for a selfie
more toys therein than Santa and elfies
Tracy warns Hickman your bank is a target
The stakeout begins, room small as a closet
where theres smoke theres fire on that you can bet
But Blackjack tells civilians, outside you must get
Tracy and Sam burst thru the door
While Blackjack goes in search for some more
