People do realize that companies have the right to remove people form their property, in this case the plane, and if the customer refuses it becomes trespassing, right? At that point they have the legal right to remove said customer, by force if necessary. United could and should have handled it better, but they were in the right.
They don’t have the right to physically throw you off the plane once you are boarded…and they certainly don’t have the right to knock your teeth out, give you a concussion, and break your nose.
