We have a long way to go to get a unanimous agreement on Trump’s performance. It’s hard to get an objective opinion because we have no standards that we can measure by. You cannot end polarization without having an absolute standard for measuring performance of an administration and that requires respectful communication and cooperation. “You’re wrong and I’m right” is not a good way to measure anything.

But Trump’s unpopularity is largely driven by the deep disapproval of Democrats and, to a lesser extent, independents. In the eyes of those who voted for him, Trump’s first 100 days have been a shining success.
Almost 90 per per cent of Republicans approve of the job he’s doing, according to Gallup, making him more popular than Ronald Reagan or George Bush snr were with their party faithful at the same point in their terms.
I have a difficult time believing Trump when he talks about how successful he is. For example the raid on Yemen, according to Trump, was a huge success: one dead, several wounded, dozens of civilians killed including women and children, one aircraft destroyed and the guy we were after got away. If that’s his definition of success, I shutter to think what he would consider a disaster.

I agree with ISIS appraisal, “The United States in in decline and is lead by an idiot.”
Gergen said on a CNN panel following Trump’s speech that bringing “your campaign speech into the presidency is something presidents rarely do.” He added: “I think this is the most divisive speech I’ve ever heard from a sitting American president.”
He “played to his base,” Gergen added. “He treated his other listeners — the rest of the people who have been disturbed about him or oppose him — he treated them basically as, ‘I don’t care, I don’t give a damn what you think because you’re, frankly, the enemy.’”
Gergen added: “I thought it was a deeply disturbing speech.”
