    You can’t blame Gorsuch for this. He’s a pawn in a larger game.

    I have always said that we are more likely to lose our freedoms from the right, under the guise of protecting freedom.Now I know it’s true.McConnell SHOULD be ashamed, but he HAS no shame!Now they’re saying Dems should roll over and just take a nice belly rub.

    Gorsuch should refuse to proceed unless hearings are granted to Garland first. ’Twould chastise the Senate’s Repugnantans, and ‘twould make an appeal to the nation’s dignity. … No big risk to Rightists, since Garland poses a choice which doesn’t involve a Lefty.

    Poor Bork, having to face some scrutiny and an up/down vote. Didn’t he tell them that he was a Republican?

    Can’t wait for the hearings where someone better ask Gorsuch his legal opinion about Garland’s ignored nomination.

    SORELY ABSCESSED {a limerick}

    Our body politic’s distressed,

    by Trumpism sorely abscessed.

    Not merely depressed

    but fiercely wrest

    and mangled at The Donald’s behest.

    ..Not to worry . . . Republicans are only showing the world how it’s done. When the Democrats return to the majority (..and it’s looking more and more like it will be sooner than later, considering the current debacle), I’m sure the Republicans will understand when the Democrats operate the same way.

    Trump also played the American public as a reality show audience, using another justice for theatrical suspense.

    I hope the Democrats keep that seat empty for the next 4 years. If the Republicans didn’t have to vote for Obama’s pick, the Democrats don’t need to help this right-wing conservative pick. At least Garland was a centrist.

    The actual truth of the Bork thumbs down: Bork ran like hell from his own paper trail. One of my all-time favorite political cartoons (by Oliphant, who is back at least for one Trump shot) was of a junkyard dog barking like hell. Except that he was saying “bork! bork! bork!” When the Senate came by in the dog-catcher’s truck he started to say “meow.” Oliphant absolutely nailed Bork’s dishonesty and cowardice.

    I sent this message to both my Senators today:Neither Neil Gorsuch or any other nominee Trump presents to us should be considered until there has been a proper hearing for President Obama’s nominee, Merrick Garland. Apparently it is OK to be political in opposition to Democrats but “unfair” to oppose republican nominees.
