What of the ambulance cost? It’s a long way to the nearest hospital.

My stepsons Obamacare “tin” plan is going up by 40% this year in premiums, with over $7,000 deductibles. It is a worthless disaster. Really great if you get the big subsidies at the expense of someone else paying for it.

What about the one where the Doctor doesn’t have to nod? I think I might be able to afford that one.

“Tin” plan is all we’ll have available, soon enough. Unless you’re rich.

I’m on Medicare A&B, with supplemental plan N which my former employer (a 3 letter international communications company) pays for, at least so far.

Obamacare is affordable if you can afford it, if not, just lie in the gutter like the rest of the poor and wait to die…

All the HMO plans are designed to prepare the plebes for socialized healthcare.

Get a high deductible plan, pay into an HSA to fund the deductible. The cost of premiums plus HSA funding is the same as an HMO. BUT – if you stay healthy, you KEEP the money in the HSA (sort of – it is like an IRA).

Now when Obamacare comes along and makes everything 3 times more expensive (to pay for Johnny’s transgender operation and counseling to deal with what he just did to himself), you can cut corners. Like get an even higher deductible (there are limits on how much you can contribute to an HSA), and stop drinking soda (a leading cause of expensive medical problems).

Why isn’t paying up front before your seen or treated any different than good old extortion or blackmail?….guess it depends on who is holding the gun.. .or medication…

I had Obamacare for about 5 months, but i couldn’t afford to keep it. I’ve been paying as I go ever since. You’ve got to love how the people who can’t afford insurance have to pay 50% more for the same things. I kind of understand it, since the doctors/hospitals have more collection costs related to those things, but I wish more of them would discount it if you pay promptly. Some do, some don’t. Fortunately I’m pretty healthy. Oh well, a few more years and I’ll be on medicare.

Companies that provide good insurance for their employees are fined for doing so (a nice piece of forced equality from Obamacare)…

This is well timed. My company this morning sent around an email saying single person coverage for medical/dental/vision will not be paid for anymore…..huge deductible to come. Funny! Well not funny. Ironic.

Put everyone on Medicare.Everyone is required to pay $106 a month. You can buy a supplement plan if you want. The cost of which will go back to pre Obama care prices because they won’t be able to shove the costs down everyone’s throat.

Make bad career and job choices ,get no education and no job training, live with your own choices.

Stop forcing others to pay for your foolishness.

No one forced anyone to drop out of school and get high and drunk till they were in their 30’s and 40’s,going from dead end job to dead end job.Or prison because they were too screwed up to get and keep a job.

Hey, gang, enough with the bashing of the Affordable Care Act. Don’t forget it’s the drug companies, private insurers, and for-profit medical industry that are behind the price-gouging, premium increases, and making out like bandits.

    -—————————————————

As to the Medicare impact, it’s exactly the opposite— ACA is helping—not hurting—Medicare. Even the conservative Fact Checker at the Post faulted Paul Ryan for his bogus claims! Gave him Four Pinocchios!

In any event, let’s not turn this into a political forum! At this point, many, if not most of us, are sick of political debates.

    -—————————————————-

We read the comments here for the amazingly clever, humorous insights, puns, and jokes! And, for the memories people share of other strips and reading comics in another era.
