Maybe we an get Guy to either retell the story of Nancy and how she came to Fritzi or maybe he can tell the story more fully. And what happened to Fritzi’s sister that caused Nancy to become Nancy’s ward. I don’t remember the details. I read the sequence in the mid 1940s.

It’s rare a comic touches my heart without being maudlin. By the way, she did thank a person when she thanked God for her being rescued. By her aunt. It’s inferred.
