Henry, it’s already happening.Did anyone blame Bush 41 when homicides were at a record level, much higher than now?

Henry takes a brave stand in favor of big government and more power for the feds to take over local enforcement duties.

6 years ago it was already old and tired to be talking about “Bush this, Bush that” and yet you distractors are still doing it. Who’s the president now? Bush? No? So what could your yammering accomplish? Deal with the problems of the current president.

Once more, the point is that your side was fine with it when it was worse under an R, but now that Black FDR (I finally figured out who Payne is drawing) is in office, these things are intolerable. It’s the reactions, Stan. Unless the entire GOP has changed personnel since then, it’s relevant.

Why is Chicago’s problem a White House problem? Do we expect the military to roll down Austin Ave and start shooting bad guys? The Black Lives matter folks wouldn’t like that very much. It is up to the state and city to figure out how to solve this problem. Other cities in the past have managed to do this. The only thing the federal government should do is get some reasonable gun regulations in place. Letting morons carry guns wherever they want is really rather insane by any standards. In Chicago money would go a long way. They have substandard schools especially in poor areas. Jails are grad courses for criminals. The Chicago PD is something like 400 short on police officers and that is driven by the city and state financial crisis which in turn is driven by the insane CPS and Municipal retirement system. As long as we keep doing stupid things we will continue to suffer the consequences.

Well, let me appeal to something a Republican can relate to.If the president provides support to Chicago, it will cost you the reluctant taxpayer money, say $75-$100million. Such, no Republican would provide a Democratic constituency. If the president gets the ball rolling on global warming NOW it will save you the taxpayer BILLIONS.So, tell me which do you advocate.

Since tom is probably gone for the day, I’ll say these things in general. The left today is mostly about where Nixon used to be. Obama compromised over and over with a Congress who would get concessions and then refuse to vote anyway. These facts are available to anyone who can read.

If we don’t do anything about climate change the oceans will continue to rise. If we don’t do anything about our lax gun laws, massacres will continue to happen. If any Republican cared about human life, they would make these things a priority, but they would rather go on vacation and whine about made up silliness.

Your “some scientists protested” is looking at sources that are paid quite a bit by oil companies to try to spread doubt about climate change.Exxon scientists found problems with continuing use of oil but their executives started the false information crusade to continue to line their pockets.

I guess you’d be happier if Obama came from the ghetto….and went right back after his term is done. tsk..This is beneath you. And, there is nothing funny about climate change. Of course you won’t know…you’ll be DEAD! Screw future generations, right?

Funny that the same oil companies who deny climate change publicly have been quietly ‘proofing’ their facilities in the water and on coastlines to deal with rising water. Actions speak louder than paid-for mouthpieces.

Search for ‘Exxon scientists’ and pick a source. Of course you will say they are all biased.Your government grant claim is silly. There is not a lot of money in government grants, especially when you consider the extremely deep pockets in fossil fuels.Question – why do you think it is a bad thing to promote renewable energy? In addition to climate change, there are oil spills that devastate the environment (Valdez oil STILL found at the spill site), the filthy process to get tar sands oil, instability in several oil-producing countries to name a few problems.

Show you an absence of editorials? Produce the other things the media was talking about instead of blaming Bush? Sure, and I’ll divide by zero while I’m at it. Better hold your breath!

Critics of our paper have pointed to a blog post that asked 7 scientists to rate their own papers. We’d already done that, except rather than cherry pick a handful of scientists known to hold contrarian views, we blanket emailed over 8,500 scientists. This resulted in 1,200 scientists rating the level of endorsement of their own climate papers, with 2,142 papers receiving a self-rating..While our analysis of abstracts found 97.1% consensus among abstracts stating a position on anthropogenic global warming (AGW), the method of self-rating complete papers independently found 97.2% consensus among papers self-rated as stating a position on AGW..In other words, the 1200 who responded agreed very well with the initial Cook, et al rating..http://www.skepticalscience.com/Consensus-Project-self-rating-data-now-available.html.And one of those 7 scientists, Willie Soon, has received a nice bundle of money from the oil companies over the years..http://www.greenpeace.org/usa/global-warming/climate-deniers/koch-industries/dr-willie-soon-a-career-fueled-by-big-oil-and-coal/.Scafetta’s theory does not look so good under independent analysis. In fact, Anthony Watts pronounced it dead based on that independent analysis..https://www.mn.uio.no/ifi/english/people/aca/sverre/climate.html.Cook, et al have discussed the other naysayers...Exxon and climate:.http://graphics.latimes.com/exxon-arctic/.And who is Michael Manning? (Yeah, I know who he means, but someone is so darn sloppy in thinking and everything related is not a good source..Not to mention too bloody incompetent to read Cook’s paper, and to understand that while errors could happen, they involved a very small percentage. And if these guys did not respond to the request to self-rate, who is to blame?.No, all of a certain gocomics serial poster’s errors must be a mark of supreme corruption and nobody should ever believe him. After all, he is clearly biased against learning things.

Those who don’t want to accept climate change should be even more incensed by the fact that the US Navy is about to spend major-significant dollars to either reinforce or move its bases due to rising tides. They’ve done their homework, and they know it will cost far less than ignoring what is happening right in front of them. But it’s still going to cost a fortune. Nothing to see here…. move along…. it’s all a liberal fantasy…..

Climate change is real. Massive numbers of guns, even brought INTO CHICAGO from OUTSIDE (only a couple miles btw) are real. Both have their foundation in human activity, as in greed, violence, lack of concern for law or the rights of “others” – like to LIVE, is the “ethic” behind the use of human made tools. Guns or pollution causing “machinery” are killing people, AND the environment. Lead ammunition btw is killing raptors, and island nations are ALREADY facing serious to fatal flooding, as are agricultural lands that are being wiped out by ocean rise into fresh water areas, salt killing crops and the soils.

Not to worry, Chicago, where a brief rise in recent killings draws attention from areas like Miami, or many other cities that are far more lethal, is of course Obama’s home town, so the only crime area, so forget Houston, Compton, Tampa, Orlando, or consistently dangerous areas.
