It is a tragic and yet historically period-accurate fact that the first LGBTQ character on an Anglophonic comics page was depicted as enacting the community’s repression-induced frustrations through what can be perceived as anguish-loaded misandry which most sociotypicals – testosterous or not – will (mis?)attribute to feminist extremism, even though the boundaries between the two are distinct. (This sort of overlap is one of the things that make people misunderstand feminism as “exchanging one power system for another” when its definitions are closer to “balancing the scales evenly and fairly”)
