My sister and I used to get my Dad’s X-Mas presents from Sears at one of the 5 or 6 big malls in Tampa in the ‘late ’70s, ’80s and ’90s. We usually found out what type of Craftsman or Kenmore product he needed and went and got it. I never thought I would see the day when the nationwide big box department stores like Sears, Penney’s and Macys as well as regional ones (here in the South: Belk, Maison Blanche, Dillards, Maas Brothers etc…) would be just about extinct. The shopping mall killed shopping in many of our downtowns in the ’60s and ’70s and now the internet/on-line shopping has done the same to the big indoor malls with a big assist by Covid-19…..

The Sears in my city closed four years ago. Where do I get my faster-than-light warp drives now?

Oh! Are we about to start the story arc of playing “Star Trek” on Cutter John’s wheelchair? My favorite!

Faster Than Light Warp Drive! Darn, I missed those when they were on sale! Can I at least get a 29th century Mobile Emitter (transporter) instead? Or are they already sold out?

For all you younger ladies out there, this strip is fair warning: Guys don’t really ever grow up. . . . . We have a lot of fun though.
