I watched that show a few times, being in the mood for something light and fun and titillating, and thinking it couldn’t always be that wretched. But it always was. (Ritter, Norman Fell, Audra Lindley, and later Don Knotts [I presume] were better than the material, but how such an abysmal piece of dreck even got submitted for an Emmy is beyond me.)
Pluto TV has just started having a dedicated Three’s Company channel. John Ritter was a master of physical comedy. It has to be re-watched for that to be appreciated beyond the obvious jokes based on the risque (for its time) premise.
If I try a TV show, and it has a laugh-track, I leave and never return.
The purpose of a laugh track is to cue you to what the produces think is funny, so you (a good sheep who wants to fit into the herd) will be amused, and think it’s funny and laugh because those recorded voices do. This bonds you to an otherwise lackluster show. Think about it.

He did play a good role in “Slingblade” along side Billy Bob Thorton.

To be fair he was one of the best physical comedians of his time.

If it is a PC, he got the “Blue Screen of DEATH.”
If it is a Mac, he got the “Spinning Rainbow of Death.”

I hope Oliver doesn’t ask about the 1989 Heavy Metal Grammy award.

Ritter’s best role was as a very bad date for Buffy’s mother in the first or second season of Buffy the vampire Slayer.

The show was pretty bad, but John Ritter was very good in it.
A good actor can give a great performance with great material. A great actor can give a great performance with poor material.

Some things, even a computer can’t handle. There are things under heaven and earth man was not meant to know!

Don’t ask about Marisa Tomei’s Oscar she got from “My Cousin Vinny.” The poor machine would have a China Syndrome style melt down.
