I’ve seen the Lucy reflex in very small children; from knocking down other children’s toys, to a very intense attempt to stomp on live pigeons. The pigeons, of course, messed with the two-year-old brat by standing motionless until jussst before the stomp, then they’d explode into the air.

uh oh, time to ban playing cards.

My favorite was Linus’ response to Lucy kicking down his sand castle. ( “Boom!” )

Lucy’s parents must have been totally oblivious to her deep-seated narcissistic cruelty.

With regard to the rash of Sunday-only strips, my definitive response from the publisher is this:

“This feature is in reruns. That said, the files in the archive, are displaying as they were previously run from our archive, as they were provided to us.”

If I read this response correctly, what they’re saying is “this is what we’ve got.”
