Good Morning to all and thank you to all the well-wishers and prayer warriors who remembered me in my time of illness! Blunebottle (Roy) is on the mend, although I will be off work for a while yet and hit-or-miss with reading GoComics, unfortunately. Got a lot of story line to catch up on! I’m still back where Tracy found Wunbrow safe from the rock slide! As far as my recovery goes, I have discovered that they really didn’t tell me how bad it could be to go through the spinal tap exam! Holy Toledo! Headache and upper body ache that would not go away for 4 days…and I understand it could have been much longer. No painkiller could defeat it. Hint: if you ever have to go through this, try eating carbs- cornmeal muffin with maple syrup, toast with jam, etc., seemed to bring me eventual relief. They also say caffeine helps, which surprises me. Feeling better, now, though still not able to work for at least a few more weeks.now, where did we leave Mr. Tracy….?
Hooray, hooray, Dick Tracy is hereNow the wedding can proceed with good cheerAll will proceed as it oughta When Tracy lands in the ‘copterNow Mole and fam’ly will have a great year
Who’s to say it’s Tracy tho? Since he got his hands on a “flying garbage can” it would be neat to see Bribery commandeer a Smith Industries helicopter and wreak a little havoc on Mole’s nuptuials
“How many Dick Tracy Foes have really turned honest ?”
And you then recalled Stooge Viller’s ‘regrets’ on his deathbed, and the more genuine reform of Steve the Tramp (1941) which ran through Duke tale, leading to the Mole.
The latter Mole, later returned (under Gould) out of prison in the (1971) Jonny Scorn tale where he would take a visible ‘first step’ at reform denouncing his grand daughter Molene and the Pouch to Tracy.
His modern day “refinement” in this mode has been “exceptional one” directed by - Mike and Joe !
You’d also recalled those of Pearshape and Influence from Max Collins’ 1981/82 (50th Anniversary story) . . .
From the SAME tale you can add those of Coffyhead, Mouse y and Blowtop, although the latter appears to continue ‘living’ in a style, near to the “edge”
From the Gould era, we shouldn’t overlook the “criminal past” of B.O.Plenty and Gravel Gertie - during the mid 1940’s. Those, are likely the Show Case “reforms” in the Dick Tracy strip !
Then there was street side (littler girl) singer Themesong (1946) used as distraction for a pickpocket gang by her father Roach member of a Shoulders operation. With her father (Roach) shot, (mother ill) the was later given a job by Christmas Early.
Earlier (1936), we had that of Lips Manlis, a reform (at the time) felt so ‘strongly’ - that his name was changed to *Bob Honor ! *
Recently, Mike and Joe gave us that of Little Face on his (2012) release from jail, where he gave significant (undercover) help to Tracy, in the New Mr. Crime story line.
Those likely Cover It !- (?) - But “experience” keeps on reminding me that few of us has a ’perfect memory !
That’s also an appropriate line for The King, since he’s a huge Superman fan and even drew a Superman story for DC, though I’m not sure it was ever published.
The last panel makes me wistful because it reminds me we’ll not see the space coupe again. The latter would have made for a much grander and more exciting entrance for Tracy. Diet, why did you . . . oh, never mind.
Gweedo uttered,I see that you are cleaned and pressed for the wedding, Bill, and Good Morning !-—————————————————————————-.’mawning, Gweedo. The count loaned me one of his no-iron wrinkle free tuxedos.
“If you are diabetic (like I am — Type 2), I would not advise doing that.”Yes, one would have to be careful in that case to manage sugar levels. They also suggest on the clinic pages that caffeine (!?!) is a good help.
I recognized the Batmobile at once, and of course I know the “Look! Up in the sky!” Superman intro, but I did not make the Superman vs. Batman connection pointed out by the reliable Neil Wick! All that, however, is overshadowed by my ignorance of Jerry King prototype Jerry ‘The King" Lawler’s owning of a Batmobile! So textured and multi-layered a work of art!
That said, I’m pretty sure it is Dick Tracy making his arrival by Diet Smith’s courtesy company chopper….

Quite the entrance.

Always nice when the boys mix things up with a one or two-panel strip to highlight a splashy visual.

Not getting Molene though, huh? :(

The Batmobile is probably how Jerry got there.
http://uproxx.com/prowrestling/jerry-the-king-lawler-owns-a-batmobile-and-drives-it-around-because-its-good-to-be-the-king/
And the Superman line is appropriate, as that is the real Jerry Lawler’s favorite super hero.

From yesterday, you’d ‘wondered’ . . .

Of course that’s the Batmobile. After all, no one has more affinity for caves than Batman.

Actually, that’s specifically a reference to the first ever Superman movie serial, Superman vs. the Mole Man.

… Composite Superman that is dressed half and half Batman-Superman …
That could have been interesting, but this wedding called for traditional conservative attire, by the looks of it.It’s interesting to read your comment on BvS. It seems that the reviewers didn’t like it much.

And to follow you off topic, what a change in artistry and story over at Mark Trail these days. Will they ever get out of that cave?
