Ned: Don't you have homework to do, Danae? Danae: Whoa...I almost forgot...I meant to include excessive homework on my list of outrage yesterday. Thanks for the reminder, daddy! Ned: Ok...TV off, homework on...now. Danae: And a new item for the list... Lucy: Hey! Why do I have to go without TV just because you have homework? Danae: Here...start your own list.

Lucy, that’s part of the punishment. By making Danae the reason for turning off the TV for everyone, Dad’s goal is to turn everyone else against her.
Varnes about 8 years ago
Shouldn’t dad say “Hi Lucy!”, or something? How does Lucy get along with Kate? Does Lucy have chores? Does she have a pony litter box?

It’s part of the collateral damage, Lucy. That’s what happens when you hang with Danae.

Not funny.

Well, now looks like calm outrage at least; except home routine of Danae is conflicting with Lucy. ?

Lucy is a talking pygmy Clydesdale who, like Hobbes of Calvin and Hobbes, plays the silent observer most of the time. Lucy was introduced in the July 11, 2003 strip, in a storyline that had Danae and Kate going to a summer horse riding camp. At the end of the summer, Danae became good friends with Lucy and took her home. Unlike Hobbes, however, Lucy is a “real” horse who the kids talk to and interact with the same as any other character, nor is she invisible to adults.

Hobbes is seen by all, also, but as the stuffed tiger that he is.

The outrage might end with Daddy getting to the bottom of it.

Lucy is better than Hobbes, because she’s a real horse! She’s only stuffed after a proper meal. ;)

So many people make the same incorrect assumption about Lucy’s biology. Wiley has really failed with exposition on this particular plot point.
