But all the right wingers say NASA sucks at Photoshop. Why, look at all the fake pictures of astronauts in space. You never see any stars in the background! It’s all faked to justify their budget. Nobody has ever gone to the moon or even into orbit.

Is this what has happened to Danae?

Danae is actually right.Those images are photoshoped. The pictures were not taken far enough away to get the entire Earth, so they pieced several photos together and morphed it to look like it came from one point of view.

Really? I thought NASA could no longer afford Photoshop.

I was married to a woman who would tell me: “don’t confuse me with the facts.” Lots of those folks around.

NASA may be “the king of Photoshop”, but Danae is a royal pain in the patoot.

I hate to admit it, but I’m finding Danae less and less funny as more and more politicians and public figures echo her opinions.It was one thing when Sarah Palin went veering off from reality, watching Russia from Alaska, but now the crazies are considered mainstream, and seeing who can out-loony the other for attention. Between Oregon cowboys (who declare war on the US but wave our flags) to flat-Earth rappers to Donald Trump, it’s a challenge to find sanity in reality these days.

I have nothing to say. I just like my avatar.

Like many youth … regardless of evidence presented, they believe what they want.

Danae should be introduced to Solipsism… perhaps followed by Existentialism…

I think she would say that it was they who are behind the gigantic conspiracy to keep others from “knowing the truth.”

Now Lucy is being sarcastic. What will happen when that explanation will not work? Is Danae running out of alternatives?

My least favorite bit of political correctness is the term “conspiracy theorist.” We ought to go back to calling them what we used to (and what they are): LUNATICS!

I’ve been enjoying this arc but one thing does seem a bit odd to me. Ordinarily, Danae will use phony logic, circular logic, or giant leaps in logic to benefit herself in some way or other, either to make money or get out of homework or chores. In this case there’s no hint of that.

Bruno ZeigertsI remember when Russia got the first pictures of the other side of the moon. One US magazine had a big exposé of how it was obviously faked: just one big volcano/impact crater, no other details, nothing like what we see on the moon. Once the US managed to get pictures of that side (the same as the Russians, but with a little more detail), it looked just like the Russian “fake”.

Perhaps you could preface your remark with, “I don’t think…”, rather than making it sound like you speak for everyone, as if your sense of what is or isn’t funny is absolute.

Why cloud your reality with facts, details, and/or evidence?

Danae is not looking at the pictures correctly. The Earth is round like a disc, not like a sphere!

As for the cartoon, poor Lucy, trying to help her best friend as best she can. Ponies Rock! even in their larger forms. :D
