I’m suffering from aging. One symptom, I still look at the good looking women but they are not looking back.

I get stuff checked out. You hear about guys dying because they never saw a doctor. I don’t get that.

I don’t think the PSA thing will be a regular thing. It has a timeless quality to it so he probably figured he might as well run it.

While the VA health care system could be improved, I know a lot of vets who are grateful for it. My brother, a Vietnam vet, goes on a regular basis now that he has degenerative nerve problems. He is very grateful to have care without having to break the bank. His wait time is definitely not 15 years between checkups. And even it was, that would be an argument to fork over more $ to the VA health care system, not to abandon it.

My father-in-law, a WWII vet, received care at the VA in Hawaii. He was very happy with the care he received there. Again, it was essentially free and they did the same stuff they would have done elsewhere. Did he have to wait a bit longer at times? Sure, but he got in and they took care of him. It is usually those who have an anti-government agenda who complain about the VA, not necessarily those who are beneficiaries.

Doctors depend on women to keep them in business, dragging their families in whenever someone suffers so much as a slight fever.

One wonders if the Count St. Germaine is still alive. If so, best to keep a low profile, ol’ boy.

A friend noticed a black spot on her “new” boyfriend’s back that he’d ignored for a long time. While he did listen to her and finally did see a doc, the melanoma had spread and he died less than three months later. As an “agent orange” vet, I pay close attention, and have had many procedures to remove “suspect” new spots, several have been early malignancies, and delay could have proved dangerous of fatal.

As to VA, I live in a small town and we used to have a one day a week mobile cllinic. Just got a notice that we will now be able (have) to use the new “veteran’s choice” program if our local hospital and doctors will work with it. A part of this is because it’s PERSONNEL, not just money, that VA has trouble maintaining enough of.

Actually, in our case it was the husband that got the wife to finally get my (basal cell cancer) spot looked at!

In terms of health care, I believe we should all have it, obviously, but I know that vets seem to have a lot of concerns, which would only make sense, given their experiences. As a WWII vet, my fatherinlaw definitely paid his dues, especially as a Japanese-American. Though he was born in Hawaii, it was hard to get his Japanese heritage past certain Americans at that time. And then there was the enemy…

Seriously, why on earth does every newspaper I have read in the last 30 years skip the first 2 panels. There are many times when the entire strip makes no sense because of that Rant over for today

When is GT going to start having DB staring at a laptop instead of a newspaper? Ask yourself: When was the last time I read a newspaper cover to cover? For me it was over 20 years ago. The best $15 I spend every month is for the NYT digital. Many trees are saved by going digital.

My parents tossed me outside to fry in the sun as a child…and I got more sunburns than I can count. My dad said it built character. I have had more things removed as an adult and tested for looking suspicious than I can count. So far so good, nothing bad…better to just get it checked and removed.
