I think I see shades of ‘Calvin and Hobbes’ here. Phoebe and her unicorn are essentially female versions of Calvin and Hobbes. Not that it’s bad, the great Watterson himself borrowed from ‘peanuts’ and ’ Bloom county’.
Yikes, Phoebe is missing a couple of toes! I like going off the 3 meter platform or board. High enough to be thrilling but not so high as to be dangerous. If you mess up and are about to belly flop or land on your back, just fold up and you’re fine
Take your time, Phoebe. Never mind the line of annoyed kids behind you. Hey, is that Sue in line?(Psst, Marigold, now while she is distracted gently float her down to the surface of the water.)
Phoebe and Marigold are NOT like Calvin and Hobbes. In C&H, most of what went on was in his overactive imagination and usually ended up getting him in trouble. Phoebe’s adventures with Marigold very rarely result in trouble, and it’s not in her imagination, either.
I just hope the commenter isn’t calling this comic unoriginal, tho it is what he seems to be doing at first glance. I consider this comic to be very original :)
She must be up there a while because in the first panel it’s morning (the sun’s in the east) and in the second panel it’s noon (the sun is from behind the board, which we’ve established is south).
Quite frankly I see what people living in the Pacific North West put up with. Over 19 inches of rain her since June 1st-enough already. Took a steam train excursion today and I expect food prices will rise this year as many fields are still saturated and the crops look like garbage. Summer should be 80s and rain every two weeks, not 70s and rain every day.

Phoebe, I’m with you. If you’d wanted heights, you’d have taken up with Pegasus, not Marigold, right?
