This whole thing is a distraction. They want people o “look over here” while real issues are Not being talked about. The political parties don’t give a rat’s behind.People who happen to be GLT are people, same as anyone who isn’t, it’s not a political statement!

Thomas should have recused himself on multiple occasions of conflict of interest. It’s past time to impeach.

Nicely done, Toles.I might add that for all the “traditionalists,” the REAL tradition is polygamy — multiple wives per man. The great majority of human cultures practice this rather than monogamy or polyandry (which does happen in a few cultures). And there is Biblical authority for this, too. Remember Solomon? So let’s not be TOO focused on “tradition.”

And they get no coverage and are kept out of debates. NPR mentioned that Bernie Sanders is running officially. And I just said "That’s the last you’ll hear of him this election cycle. "

“Traditional” marriage as of 100 years ago, the men owned their wives and children. A wife did not own the clothes on her back, let alone property. She could be beaten, starved, raped – and it was the husband’s right to do so. She had no say in how, when or where her children were schooled. Forgive me if I don’t want to have a “traditional” marriage.

I find mdavis4183’s use of the word “idiotic,” at any time, to be deliciously ironic.

In a very narrow sense you’re right. A minority is “prevailing” over a majority. But let’s add some genuine facts and a little bit of historical perspective. First, the LGBT population is somewhere between 10-15% of the total. Second, not all heterosexuals are opposed to gay marriage. Thus, the percentages, even if a majority of the hetero population opposes gay marriage, are not 99:1 as you assert. Now the historical precedent. I will assume you accept that blacks are, and always have been, a minority of the population. I will confess that I do not know exact percentages, now or in the past. Regardless, the decisions first to eliminate slavery, then to enact and enforce such laws as the Voting Rights Act, had the effect of giving to a minority of the population the same rights as those enjoyed by the majority, despite the virulent opposition of a portion of that majority, It should not take the intellect of an Einstein to see how the analogy is a valid one.

No, he thinks the wealthy should contribute their share.Oh, wait, you mean same-sex marriage? MOST Americans are all for it. Both parties.
