Apparently foreign women, in particular the wives of dignitaries, are not required to cover their hair.On the other hand, chocolate chip cookies for lunch is unforgivable, but nice.

Henry, you draw an arab, who is probably funding terrorism against Americans, and you use your (cruddy) ’toon to take a swipe at Michelle Obama? (and a cheap swipe, at that!)

Saudis weren’t offended and chocolate chip cookies are, indeed, inappropriate “served for lunch.” Of course, as a snack or dessert, they’re fine..Other than that, this is brilliant work. Considering what this toadlicking Koch Brothers sycophant has done in the past.

If Michelle had worn a veil the Repubs would say that this proves that the Obamas are Muslims. What is wrong with healthy eating? Even oatmeal cookies would be a better choice.

I say bully for Ms. Obama. I can’t believe I was the only one outraged when we forced our military women to wear long sleeves for desert warfare, forbade them from driving, and forbade all troops from outwardly celebrating Christmas during Gulf War I, just so we wouldn’t offend the sorry butts we were asked to come in and save. They asked us to do their dirty work, which we seemed oh, so happy to do, and then they told us how we should do it. And we capitulated to that nonsense.

Go, Michelle. We don’t run their lives, for sure. Why should we let them run ours?

One more thing I’ve learned from this:

Chocolate chip cookies. They’re not just for breakfast anymore.

The first time I knew Mrs. Obama shouldn’t be let out of the country was when I saw a picture of her hand on the back of the Queen of England, as if she were Mrs. Obama’s elderly auntie. Such gross ignorance of basic protocol. While I admire her choice of dress for Saudi Arabia — properly walking the line as it did between her status as a foreign dignitary and a guest, and the sensibilities of her hosts — the lack of public control of her facial expressions puts her definitely in the minor leagues. And if she snarked at chocolate chip cookies being offered at lunch, an obvious attempt on the part of her host to offer a western treat to her as a guest, then she should be sent to her room and never allowed anywhere but the U.S., where her bad manners will find supporters (and yes, I’m a natural-born, life-long US citizen.)

    1) Michelle has a prize for her chocolate chip cookie recipe; and 2) I couldn’t find any news item about the Saudis serving chocolate chip cookies to the Obamas..So WTH is this about?.http://www.usatoday.com/story/onpolitics/2012/10/02/michelle-obama-cookies-family-circle-ann-romney/1607961/

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;” first line of the Bill of Rights. Is it Constitutional to have diplomatic relations with any religiously based nation? Saudis, Israelis, the Vatican, etc.
