What a greedy gus! Birds gotta fly, Birds gotta sing, I gotta bird that doesnt quite swing but oh my, loving that bird of mine. Missed you guys. Loved the time we spent at the cabin and it wasnt a lot of effort to close it for winter, but it was a fantastic trip! I will share more with you tomorrow. I keep a journal, and I wrote about Sunday on the trip up to the cabin. After much soul searching I have decided to share it with you guys. It will have to be after I have had some sleep however because right now I am pooped. Just wanted to say hey there, and leave you some funny pics. Have a great day if I dont see you before then! As an old person, I can assure you that no matter what time I go to bed, I am up by 6 or 7 (at the absolute latest). After all, the potty monster visits us regularly! And I must obey his call lol

SheMC, I am so glad to hear your hubby is home now! God Bless You Both. Will add you both to my prayer list. 2Old, I love that your hubby has overcome so much and that the 2 of you are strong together, much like LadyKat and her love, Paul. (you see, I really do listen!) Great pics too!Adrienne, your story so moved me. Tinker would do that with Linda. I always knew when she was in danger simply from Tinker notifying me, or sometimes, just by the way she stared at her, like begging her to come back to what Tinker knew was normal for her. Tinker is still that way, she checks on Ramona and I many times a day. I swear she could replace Dr. Burgdorf for me.(or at least let me know when I really should go see him!)RikkieTavi, you posted such an amazing video, and great pics. Thank you, I know what time it takes to do so, and I appreciate it and you! I think I need to make an apple pie bed for …oops, not supposed to say anything yet, it will be in the copy of my journal post tomorrow -Marge, its great to hear from you, and ya know what? I and probably everyone else, would totally screw up our German to the point where you would have no idea what we were trying to say. Just go for it Girl, we got your back!

I’d rather listen to birds or the Byrds than TS anyday! The way things are looking my partner is going have to get a hysterectomy (can’t believe I spelled that right). now it’s a matter of deciding to go ahead with it. If it was me, I hope I would have the strength to have it done. She’s kinda freaked out right now, thank goodness for Ativan!2Old, Good to hear your hubby is out of the hospital and swimming. Chester scratched Barbara’s eye this morning, so instead of sleeping in she’s up so I can apply some Octic antibiotic ointment, I keep for just such an emergency.I know it may sound silly or even dangerous, I keep a full medkit at home with my bug out bag with pretty much all the essential medicines, surgical instruments, dressings, and sutures. I have pretty decent health care from my union nowadays, but for the longest time I had none. So i learned to doctor myself and occasionally a friend in need unless it was pretty serious. It was kinda weird actually going to a real doctor for the first time in years. I have to actually resist the urge to tell him how to do his job, so i bite my tongue and let him work.I’ve done so much field medicine over the last 30 years it is kinda scary now to think of the risk involved in doing such a potentially dangerous thing just to save a few thousand dollars in healthcare costs.

Love all the pictures! 2old – when I saw your apartment one, there was a flock (gaggle?) of geese flying outside my window. Rikkie Tavi – always love your pictures and that video is really cute. Please don’t make the birds pay royalties, they may stop singing. I love to hear the birds.

Boy did I not want to get up this morning. Its a cold blustery day, and with 2 warm cats discouraging you from disturbing their beauty sleep, its much easier just to lie there, pet them and listen to purrs which of course put you back to sleep. I will come back in a bit to share my journal entry, as I need to take my meds, especially the one that helps ease my friend arthurs (itus) precense in my hands. As soon as it does, I will come back. Thank you for the welcome backs, and RikkieTavi, great video, but I adore the cat without its mittens, so cute! Great pics 2Old!!

The trip up was incredible! The colors were brilliant, the sounds were not of heavy traffic, but of the wind blowing through all those red and gold leaves, and of birds singing. We made our first stop at Jacks service station, to use the bathroom and fill back up. They were still passing out treats, to us (KitKats) as well as George the 3rd’s usual Milkbone. And to my and the girls surprise, Pounces for Tinker and Belle. Jack said he always kept dog treats, but after seeing us so many times, he thought he should be an equal opportunity treater, so got some shrimp Pounces. He added that once he did so, he started seeing a lot more cat owned cars pulling in to fill up.Funny how that works huh? A dollar and a half expenditure has increased his business by at least 20%. He asked me if cat people left some kind of mark on a place, like the hobo’s did during the depression, indicating that you would be fed there. I laughed and said no, but that I thought it was a heck of an idea! Jack is such a nice guy. We stopped at the diner we usually go to so that we didnt have to cook that night, and the waitress, Joann, grinned at us and in place of a menu, she handed me a package of frozen salad shrimp and told me that I didnt have to worry about spoiling the girls, that she was! I had forgotten that not long after Linda’s passing, I had unloaded on her , telling her about inheriting the cats and their house, how beautiful and amazing they are, and how much I am in awe of them am, and that I was afraid I was spoiling them rotten. So now, I have accomplices in their spoilage – lol – Oh well, they deserve it! When we got to the cabin, and got everyone set up, litter boxed, and George the 3rd walked and – well, you know, we fed everyone, finished carrying stuff in and put it away, and Ramona and I were tired, so we decided to just sit on the back screened in porch and share some wine. Now, I dont know much about bottle size when it comes to wine, so I just looked in the fridge and there was a large bottle of Reisling there so I thought, well, theres 2 of us, that should work. And it did, way too well as a matter of fact. By our third glass we were singing old songs from the 60’s and Ramona said you know, that Tommy James song Draggin the line? Yes, what about it. She said we should change the lyrics to “Liking the wine”, and we laughed and I thought, yes and the backbeat should be “Drinking the wine, drinking the wine” and we just cracked up. Tinker came out and gave us a look that as much said that we had embarrassed ourselves, and by extention, her and Belle. We cracked up all over again, but that was enough to tell us both that these old ladies should clean up and go to bed, so we did. The next morning Ramona woke up to a cat purring on her chest, and she thought nothing about it, just began to pet it, and thats when she realized that it was not Katrinka, nor BlueBelle. She opened her eyes to a majestic long haired tuxedo purring at her, quite happy to let her continue to pet him. She brought him into the kitchen, and said we have a new friend. I told her we should go around and see if we could find its owners. We walked to the close neighbors and no one had ever seen it before. Mr. Tuxedo went willingly into a carrier, so we drove into town and asked at the animal shelter and no one had posted any missing cat signs. They checked and he was microchipped, so we got his info, and a vets name and number as well. We called the vet and he told us that Mr. Tuxedo’s owner was an elderly man, and he would go check on him and call us back. Sadly, Mr. Tuxedo’s owner had passed away, and apparently Mr. Tuxedo had decided to go find a new owner and picked Ramona. So we now have 3 cats, and a partime Basset. I think we are well on our way to becoming crazy old cat ladies. After we had determined that we were going to keep Mr. Tuxedo, Ramona, and I turned to each other and both of us started saying, “Linda would have loved this, and laughed her fanny off at both of us!” So, go ahead and tell me that we planned this weekend. I swear Linda set it all up and is still laughing her fanny off at us!

Love the story of Mr Tuxie’s arrival-smart cat. Will the others get along with him? How sad he was left on his own after his person passed away. Such a nice cat he seems too.

I just love that Mr. Tuxedo found you and was purringly happy about it! So sweet! And the former owner can rest in peace knowing his beloved kitty has a home. My late husband once woke up to find an unknown but beautiful black kitty sharing his pillow. He would have kept it but found the owner lived only a few doors away.

This pic could be Mr. T’s twin. He is a very sweet cat, loves to be brushed, and playes with Belle like they are both kittens. I even found him and Tinker asleep together. If they hadnt gotten along there would have been no chance of him staying so I am glad its all worked out so well. The vet told us he was 5 years old, so he and Belle are close in age. Glad that he and the girls are all fixed though because he seems to be quite the lover! – lol -

I picked up the fosters at the park this morning. When the van driver (from Best Friends) opened the door, oh, my goodness! What a cacophony of meows, mews and LET ME OUTS!! Lynn and Bobbi got their fosters, Susan got the ones from the shelter and others she had to take to their homes, and I got mine. SOMEONE, actually, several SOMEONES pootied in their carriers. One was Susans’ so she put that cat in a clean carrier and I brought it home with my fosters to clean and disinfected. Two of my carriers had also been pootied in. I got them all into the kitty room and took 5 carriers outside to clean. Yucko! Got it all done and was on my way out to PetCo but thought I would check on the kittens.

Picture this: THREE littler boxes. Freshly washed with brand new litter. They have been here 30 minutes. One of them pootied between 2 of the litter boxes with getting some on the side of one box.

I had that to clean up. I think I was being punished for sending them away for 2 nights.

Durned revenuers! Granny would be loading up her shotgun with rock salt and pork rinds right about now! -Thanks for the hilarious pictures, everyone! Glad you’re back, Ruth, and glad you had a great time! Our pets really are good for what ails us, aren’t they. And good for us when we’re ailing. People who say that cats don’t care about their people, well, they just don’t know.
