retired widow who loves comics and the special loving people here at go comics.
that poor gnome is doomed!
This has me laughing out loud and I have to stop and get a grip. I just got the teething baby back to sleep, and I threatened to tie the toddler to his “youth” bed so he laughingly went to his bed and stuck his tongue out at me and I had to turn into his bathroom before I started laughing again and woke him completely. Gonna be a heck of a Sunday, hope yall have a great one!
Emile Coue, French psychologist, first propagator of self suggestion, once told the world to tell themselves, “Every day, in every way, I’m getting better and better”. Describes BCN perfectly!!
My mom started taking me to her favorite book store when I was around 12 and its now my favorite book store. The lady who runs it lives over the store in a building built in the 1880s. When you enter the door, there is a smell that envelops you, the smell of lavender and old books. You wander around and find a few to check out, go find an overstuffed easy chair, and start to peruse them, and one of 3 calicos will find your lap and your hands automatically begin to rub and the purring begins. I have to admit to having to be woken up once or twice, holding a book, and being surrounded by calico sweetness of one in my lap, one on my shoulders and one on the arm of the chair. One of my favorite places in this world. When I retire, I would love to own this store. There would always, always be book store cats!
God Hears Us! I am going to continue my prayers for all, and visualize the light of Gods love surrounding each of you as the cancer is eradicated. Be Blest, today and always!
Grace, believe me, you dont want to unfollow. This is one of the most loving, and cat/animal friendly strips in the entire world. There can be no finer example of caring and generosity of spirit than you will find here. Both by the artist and the community that has sprung up around it. There is true caring, sharing of spirit and encouragement in both our dreams and our foibles. I guess what I am trying to say here is that there is love here, and the world (this includes you and me both!) needs more of it. There is much more joy than sorrow shared, but the sharing of both is welcomed and responded to with love. I hope you stay, but know no matter what you do, we will be here and will welcome your input, both joyous and melancholy. We support each other here. For today, I wish you gentle head boops and warm purrs, Lennie
Well, they took out the formatting of the poem, but I am not changing it back to the usual poem state, as I have to get busy and get the boys to day care and me to work. I hope everyone’s day shines!
I am so sorry to hear of Boberts loss and I know the heartbreak involved. The following was a poem that my mom loved, she said it gave her comfort when she lost several beloved pets through her life. She said it was given to her by a friend when she lost her first loved cat as an adult, and she kept the card it was printed on over the years. I have the card in my hand now, and its looking bedraggled and worn, but the words still speak a message of love..My Forever PetThere’s something missing in my home,I feel it day and night,I know it will take time and strengthBefore things feel quite right..But just for now, I need to mourn,my heart – it needs to mend.Though some might say, “its just a pet”I know I’ve lost a friend..You’ve brought such laughter to my home, and richness to my days.A constant friend through joy or loss, with gentle, loving ways..Companion, pal and confidante,a friend I wont forget. You’ll live always in my heart,my sweet forever pet.
God Bless You. Bobert WILL be waiting for you at that Rainbow Bridge.
dammit, I am, as my mom would say, a woosie. I could barely see the words to type them here. Calvin, the people here feel your pain and loss. I know that I am not the only one crying for you. Carry our love with you, today and everyday.
Everyday, I come to better understand my mom’s fixation with her gocomics strips and people she befriended. You folks are an amazing representation of humanity. Not once have I heard anything negative here, nothing politically polarizing, not one word other than to very slightly admonish those who try to input something mean-spirited. I truly get inspiration from your kindness and generosity of spirit to all who come to admire our feline overlords represented here in one of the most loving and creative cat comic strips ever. Since Georgia Dunn created the characters, I believe that they represent not only how she views life, but how she sees her beloved critters interacting with the world in the most positive way, and also how I see each one of you deal with the things that come up in your lives. With love for each other, strength, courage, and faith that our mighty God will handle things as they should be handled, but most importantly I think, with humor. Humor will get you through long days of heartbreak so much better than kvetching and moaning about things. I pray daily for the orb and all that they come into contact with. God Bless You All! With many head boops and loud and proud purrs, Lennie
