Artificial stupidity isn’t really an accomplishment.

The key to success is to set the bar so low that even failure looks like an accomplishment. Achieving an American level of intelligence might be a step in the opposite direction, though…

I consider myself pretty much a world citizen… not one to drape myself in the flag and practice petty nationalism.I appreciate the mix here, and getting viewpoints from all over the world.Still, I am an American…. and I love how people outside the US think it’s OK to rudely critique our intelligence…wholesale…as though everyone in their countries were smarter than every one of us….

while, BTW, using or copying our films, cars, medicine and technology, among other things.

Sheesh… do you realise how many smart, kind, funny, friendly people on these forums are American? And that you’re reading and enjoying American comics, on an American site?

If I made an offhand remark about some other nationality’s lack of intelligence, I’d be (rightly) excoriated.

I like Canada, especially BC. I like Canadians for the most part. Almost became one in the late 60s.

I’ve run into a few humans who would probably flunk the Turing test, and some who would have trouble passing the Voight-Kampff empathy test.

“Stupid jokes about Canadians get my goat.”

I don’t blame you – I much prefer to hear good jokes about stupid Canadians.

Wait a minute. What happened to the invasion? Most important, who ate the Trojan pizza? Maybe that story line was simply a nightmare Pam was having about how Brewster would let invaders in for the sake of a free pizza.

“Intelligence” literally means “to choose between”. If the robot was able to freely choose to watch honey boo boo, instead of having the behavior pre-programmed, it has acheived intelligence. The Turing Test is one proposed method of attempting to objectively verify the acheivment.

Whether an intelligent entity chooses wisdom or folly seems to be a religious issue.

NOT IF IT’S WATCHING HONEY BOO BOO!

(Calm down everybody. Let’s play nice.)
