Well, he’s got a point there, and to be fair, with the world being the mess it is, there are far worse things they could be doing than banditry…if anything, they’re probably holding back, considering their position, so I’ll give the lizards that much.

What about the fact that the mutants seem to heal quickly?? ( Holly’s arm for one) Why would they need medicine? Shouldn’t Chic and the bully cook be healed by now?? I’m so confused!

And honestly, who knows what state Endtown is in after Jacob Jackrabbit’s power grab and the rats’ becoming the law? They would literally have let Wally and Holly die in the shaft because they just didn’t care.

It’s interesting that Piotr mentioned medicines as a primary essential. Does that mean that their nutritional needs have been addressed? This leads to the question of the source of their eggs. What do they eat?

Veteran,I’m beginning to think that the Topsiders can hold out a lot longer than we had originally guessed. We tend to se very little of them in this strip but some of the things I’ve seen suggest that they have vast resources at their command. In the beginning I assumed that the Topsiders were just another scavenger society, an offshoot of Apex Corp that had stockpiled a good supply of nutrients, biosuits and other equipment against the end of civilization and their final war against mutantkind. Still, even from the beginning their resources seemed astounding — consider the pack of PTs that followed Al and Gustine back to Endtown.Since then we’ve learned that the limits of Topsider resources extend even beyond the knowledge of their elite members. At the beginning of the “Countdown” story arc, Flask convinced Mallard and company that the only way the TS could get their satellite into orbit was to use a rocket constructed of savaged Apex parts and that destroying said rocket would put the satellite program back another 3-5 years. Apparently it had never occurred to her that her former comrades had the ability to design and build a more advanced rocket from scratch and to launch it from an underground silo. Now we’ve seen the Topsiders spend a large amount of material to develop a squadron of enormous drones to fly around the wastes (and possibly other areas) devastating everything in sight. The scary thing about these ships is that their immense scale and vast numbers seem to suggest that their creators had no concerns about conserving resources. It almost suggests that they have a complete vertically integrated manufacturing capability from obtaining raw materials through final assembly. We’ve seen very little of the Topsiders starting with a few guys with Transporters and mutts, going on to one colony and then some of their creations. Its almost impossible, as a reader, to get a handle on how vast the Topsider network is or even how interconnected it is (Flask’s lack of knowledge suggests that information was doled out on a “need to know” basis) but their latest creations suggest that the Topsider resources are deeper than I had imagined. I wonder what their limitations are (beyond the need for biosuits that is).

“Enhanced Bartering Techniques”Our IRS are masters of these skills.I give them 26% of my gross and they promise not to put me in prison.Sounds fair dinkum, don’t it?NOT!Paying a tax should be a voluntary option, anything else is robbery under penalty of incarceration. Of course the lizards take all and might be eating the more meaty and tasty travelers. They’ll get their pound of flesh…One way or another. It’s as if a corrupt Southern town was mutated for our entertainment. (No offense to the South)

    Who runs Barter Town?

    Who Runs Barter Town…?

    Master Blaster runs Barter Town..
