About two more weeks and my garden will produce full size tomatoes. The cherry tomatoes don’t work for a tomato sandwich. Go Arlo !

Bacon, take it or leave it? Blasphemy!….There is a reason bacon is listed first on those things….

Love this family – I know, it is a cartoon strip – but it speaks to the readers.

I like my tomato sandwiches without the tomato. Just overpower me with the bacon!

I just sent this to my wife. Our tomatoes have come in, and we’ve been scarfing them down regularly. I prefer multigrain and she prefers white bread, though.

Ah! Tomato sandwich, the essence of Summer. Ours are just starting to come in. Too bad we leave for vacation and will miss some. Just can’t win sometimes.

Although I’m not a big fan of mayo and usually eat whole grain bread, I do think the quintessential homegrown or farm stand tomato sandwich is white bread, tomato, mayo, salt and pepper.

Tomato sandwiches do not have bacon. BLT’s have bacon that is why they are called BLT’s – bacon, lettuce and tomato. However, in my opinion, the perfect BLT has a balance of all three.

Never sit down and have a BLT if you are really hungry. There is no such thing as “A” BLT. A minimum of four at the very least.

StoicLion: It was tried with pot-bellies awhile back, but they had a habit of vanishing in the dark of the night. It might be tried again in some areas. If you have a large enough caliber, you can usually find a farmer with a feral hog problem who would welcome a little barter: you get the meat, he gets less crop damage.

I like the BLT without the “T”. I can’t stand ’em. I was probably the only 5th grader who would touch pizza qith a 10 ft pole.

But one still wonders how they turn tomato sauce into tomatoes.
