To the ’toon, just wait until the developers get that new mall going! Or maybe a Canadian company will use eminent domain for a pipeline?

Growing up a military brat, there was a saying about furniture; “Three moves equals one fire.” Wonder how many it took him?

I like to look at the comments accusing the President of being deranged from chemical dependency, unable to speak without a prepared speech in front of him or using executive power and privilege to usurp the power of the Congress. The Bush years were special, weren’t they?Precious memories.

He missed the memo that Wiley doesn’t always draw about politics. Sometimes the strip is just funny. The video ads above however, irritate the heck out of me.

Isn’t that the essence of all those self-help schemes? Just repeat over and over again “I’m going to be successful” till the Law of Attraction (or some other foolishness) makes your wish come true? My former employer once spent a fortune in time and money subjecting all of us to such a scheme, and in the end it did nothing to help either my bowling scores or the company’s profitability.

That phrase has always bugged me too, but I realize that it is just an over simplified way of saying that given a certain number of places to look, you will always find the object of your search in the last possible place. If there are 12 boxes that your prized china mug might be in, it will always be in that 13th box you left out from the count because there is no way the mug would possibly be in but you check as a last resort after not finding it in the 12. If you check that extra box first the mug would magically be in another box.

-He learned from the USA-This without a doubt is the most trollish comment you’ve ever made. Goebbels was a hate machine who never got over his bitterness at being rejected for service in World War I because of a deformed foot and small size. When he first joined the Nazi Party, he was left wing Nazi. He regarded the Soviet Union as a natural ally against the capitalism of the USA, and he called for the expulsion from the Nazi Party of Hitler, who he said was bourgeois.-When it was clear that Hitler was going to run things, Goebbels switched directions and supported him passionately. He was instrumental in the Krystallnicht pograms that broke windows in Jewish homes and stores, and arrested and tortured Jewish men.-He was a major force in the internment of Germany’s Jewish population in concentration camps and said that Jews, Gypsies and even the Catholics who had educated him were ‘exterminatable’.-When Hitler committed suicide rather than have to surrender, he left directions that Goebbels should take over. Instead, Goebbels had someone poison his own children, and directed a worker to shoot both his wife and himself.-Which of those things did he supposedly learn from the USA, which, along with other allies, liberated the world from the Nazis?

dflak, at my age, everything that involves directions sounds to me like this…“See, what you need to do is go down to the corner where the seed house was, turn left l and go past the lot next to where Burger Bonk was…. you know just past the bike shop that burnt down, Keep going until you get to that intersection where the building exploded…..Turn right where the Monkey Wards was and it should be right there next to the park where the library used to be…”

If you repeat something often enough…you may eventually get a chance to make it what you always said it was all along. You should see what they are saying today.

The trolls of yesteryear are the sycophants of the moment. If you are asserting that my observation of historical repetitions have not become fact through the magic of time, I cannot see how you mean to support it, but I will defend to the death your right to miss the joke.
