Well, Wally and Joan HAVE been to France some story lines back. As for me, the farthest I’ve ever travelled from the U.S. was England; that was 2012 with only my brother. As for within the U.S., either Hawaii (Oahu 2001 with brother and parents or Big Island 2007 by myself) or maybe Boston or New York City (both in 1998 with parents and brother on a summer road trip).

I, for one, will miss seeing Evie dealing with her daughters, and assorted grandchildren in her quite unique way. I know she isn’t going away permanently and there will be ‘strips’ with her in them(on the telephone) but she is a member of the family that I have gotten used to seeing on an almost daily basis. Have fun, Evie ! ! !

Does anyone know if there is a full “background story” available somewhere for this strip? Like, is it Andy’s mom or dad who’s the girls’ sibling? What happened that he’s living with Joan and Wally? Max is Wally’s step-child but Lucy is his natural daughter. What happened to Val’s husband? Inquiring minds want to know!

Andy is Wally’s nephew…his dad is a ne’re do well and he came to live with Wally long before Joan and Wally married.

“Eh”? Why not add a few “aboots” and a couple of “y’knows”.

I hope we can do that some day. I moved from Michigan to Canada 5 years ago, and we live in Ontario and like it, but I hope someday we can travel all over Canada.

Went to Toronto for my 16th birthday to see the Queen. (Do the math – it was eons ago!). Also went to Chichester when my dad had a parish there, and on to Wales to do some research on the Rhys family tree. Would love to live in Wales!

I’ve never been out of the country. The furthest I’ve ever been is Florida. I would love to travel if I could afford it and had the time. Two big issues unfortunately.

I’ve been fortunate to have travelled both as a kid (mostly within in the U.S.) and as an adult (all over). We now travel with our kids, which I hope they’ll appreciate one day.

@Jan@T_Lexi and @sbwertz both pointed to the Wikipedia page, but not the http://www.stonesoupcartoons.com/home.html Website page. But when I got there, found Evie just referred to as the slightly eccentric and adventuresome mom living upstairs. At least she’s named in the Wikipedia page, but neither says who Arnold is.Maybe http://www.stonesoupcartoons.com/home.html is due for an update.Love the strip though.

You need to be a little more specific than just “explore Canada”. There are some beautiful parts, and some interesting parts. And then there’s Saskatchewan… (No, I’ve never been there, but I love “Corner Gas”!)

I hope we get to see more of Evie and Arnold this time around…their relationship is adventurous to say the least! Perhaps we’ll get to see what South Africa looks like even if it may only be a few strips… ;)

In 2005, we traveled through Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York to get to Ontario to see Niagara Falls. On the way back, hubby didn’t want to drive through Chicago, so we bought a map, and traveled through Ontario to get to Michigan anew then traveled through Michigan to the Mackinac Bridge. We spent the night in Manistique, MI and then finished traveling through the Upper Peninsula to Wisconsin and then headed home. It made for moe vacation on the way home.

I’m happy to have moved to Phoenix (yes, even in the summer) and I invested the equity in my old house to buy this one so I will remain here for my retirement.

Unlike Evie, I found a wonderful companion in the general vicinity and we are just starting to really get to know each other, but like her, it will be just a special friendship because we both have established heirs (and couples get along better when they each have a pie de terre).

Interesting how ‘eh?’ is widely associated with Canadians, given that I use it myself on occasion, but I hadn’t been aware of it until within the past few years. Or if I had heard it before then, I had forgotten.

I would love to visit British Columbia- preferrably in the summer. Although Ottawa and Montreal are both quite nice.
