I’m sure there are Mysta fans who are becoming just as frustrated as Mysta foes as we wait, and wait, and wait, for that proverbial “next shoe” to drop..Perhaps even more disturbing is the speculation by Ray Toler regarding Dr. Ghote – whom we thought would have been pushing up daisies by now, anyway. Ray’s speculation was that maybe Mysta is a clone, but the now reluctant Ghote will soon be knocked off, taking that secret with him to the grave!.Meaning that we may never know who Mysta really is!.From Saturday:.Day-Day2001: Long story short, that’s why I emphasized if she knows she’s a fake. If she does not know she’s a fake, that is a horse of a different color. But I don’t think we’re in the Emerald City, either….A big problem if this is not the original Mysta is, sympathetic character or not, I don’t think a clone Mysta can add much to the strip. This is especially true if she does not know she’s a fake. She’d just muddle along, not knowing who she really is, but will become painfully aware of who she is not. I would expect total rejection from the other characters in the strip toward a fake Moon Maid, regardless of whether she knows she’s a fake or not..I have speculated that a clone (fake) Mysta would likely become a villain. Given Sunday’s events, she may not have a choice in that matter….From Sunday:.Moon head face: As mentioned Saturday, I should think this guy would be chasing a light bulb face guy after listening to Saturday’s radio program, the Score, hosted by Edmund Stone!.But seriously, assuming anyone has been telling the truth in these panels this last week – which is about as big a stretch as anything that has gone on in this story so far – now that we know she’s been “bugged,” my theory about both the horns and the mask is that this is where the nefarious doctors implanted her bugs!.Thought for the day: Mysta is the original and needed no surgery; the surgery was to implant electronic devices, just like Star Trek Next Generation’s Cyborgs!.Let’s face it: Sci-fi is a can of worms. Like it or not, as Michyle Glen said the other day, the lid is blown off this can of worms..Mysta seems to be a “binary” character – for some of us, she needs to be the original; for others, she just needs to be gone. Likely, she will be neither. .Perhaps Still Da Man! said it best: Mike has painted himself into a corner. Whatever his final revelation regarding Mysta’s identity, the majority of us will be dissatisfied.

It is the nature of comic strips to move slowly. Some are ultra slow and sometimes seem as though the author is killing time while trying to decide in what direction to go. This is certainly NOT the case with Dick Tracy. I think Mike and Joe have had a plan from the start of weaving several story lines together. Ultimately, I think we will find out what happened to the moon people, who Mysta really is ( perhaps an aunt or cousin to Honeymoon), and the bad guys will be punished (but live so the can cause trouble in the future). IMO, for what it’s worth.

I don’t agree. If the story had actually ground to a halt, there wouldn’t be anything new to comment on here, but there are comments. It seems to me that new revelations are coming up almost daily and I don’t think the pace is either too fast nor too slow. That’s my opinion.
For those who may interpret what I said about a fake (clone or otherwise) Moon Maid, Willy007 and Day-Day2001: Hate is probably not the correct word. But I think, resentment may be better..For instance, assuming Mysta is, in fact, a fake: What of her actions to try to get her husband back? Well, the lawyers have already spoken, tsull2121 and others, that because she is “legally dead,” Junior’s already not her husband – but if, in addition, she’s not the real Mysta, and she continues such behavior….I think reactions as we have seen from tsull2121 and others may be more typical of the Tracy family than you might think..Certainly from Sparkle, Bob Oscar, and Gertie..

He was standing there long enough to get back forensic reports and long enough to allow female FBI Agent Ennen to ‘fly in’ - from Washington. The story by D. LocherAs you note, for all practical purposes back then, he was GROUNDED and the only thing that seemed to move was his mouth.Given the inordinate time, some readers even worried about other “body functions” ! ?As the Ring Master in the tale often noted - “It happened”! ??

I don’t agree. If the story had actually ground to a halt, there wouldn’t be anything new to comment on here, but there are comments. It seems to me that new revelations are coming up almost daily and I don’t think the pace is either too fast nor too slow. That’s my opinion.
