Darsan54’s comment made me look again, and…Is that politician smiling????Masterkrain- I agree. It is time to use the -Illudium PU-36 Space Modulator on them. Or, maybe your ACME Disintegrating Ray Pistol on a few specific politicians will suffice. I can name 5 from each party that you can target in order to room for open minds.Facetiously…mostly,C.

Certainly the lobbyists should go. Where did that system come from?

    Wow, Omnius.

Nothing can better define the anti gun movement better than your posting.

Oh, and by the way? The Nazi Party was the Nationalist Socialist Party— elected on the platform of more jobs, more benefits, protecting the people from a supposedly violent subgroup, and “taking back” the earnings from one group to distribute to another.

Use of governmental troops to kill the hated sub groups was kind of a natural extension of that hate one group used to define another, and only worked because they took the guns away from that hated group so they couldn’t fight back.

Look in the mirror. You have just parroted the platform the Nazi Party used to put Hitler in power.

Is there any baser organization in the US than the NRA? What a disgrace to us all.

When the NRA says we’ll get their guns when we “pry them from their cold, dead hands,” my response is “whatever it takes.”

And where does the"learning from history" come in?

This is America. We don’t learn from our history. It’s un-American to even suggest it. You’re either with us or you’re with the terrorists. And by “us” I mean the Republican Party.

“And, by the way, the definition of “An Honest Politician” is ‘One who once he is bought, STAYS bought!’”

I prefer Lyndon Johnson’s approach to Big Donors: “If you can’t take their money, drink their liquor, screw their women, and vote against ‘em anyway, you’ve got no business being in politics.”

Okay, I’ve read 300 gun control laws, then 20,000 gun control laws, now 50,000 gun control laws. Gosh, these laws just keeping having babies. Do I hear 1,000,000? What about 300,000,000? Or what about a gun control law for every person in the country? Do you all just make these things up? One law would be enough, if it were a good law. I’ve already proposed — everybody gets to own a gun who wants to, but all the guns have to be kept in a central location and they can be checked out only for specific purposes, such as a hunting trip or target practice. Every gun has a GPS chip, and if the gun goes where it’s not supposed to go, it becomes inoperable.

‘we need to get rid of all lobbyists,’-There are tons of lobbyists that do not represent K st. big oil, big pharma, or big anything. They are important for the non-big organizations and businesses to communicate their needs to Congress. -There are rules about who can and cannot be a lobbyist.-There should be at least one rule added— once you are in Congress or work for them, you can never be a lobbyist, and vice versa. There are probably equivalent rules for the administration and judiciary that should also be enacted.-This would AT LEAST close the situation where Jack Abramhoff could offer a lucrative lobbying position to a congressional staffer in exchange for legislative favors.-A few years operating under these rules and Congress’ approval ratings might reach double digits.

Thanks for the link-————————You (& All) are welcome..Bear in mind that I sometimes play “devil’s advocate” on these boards, hoping to get folks to view alternate perspectives.I have my own personal convictions, but they are subject to change – depending upon reliable sources that make me think. In that case, I guess you could label me a “flip-flopper”! Anybody who’s objective should be willing to change his/her mind in the presence of convincing evidence.

Hey Charlie, if the gun you were holding when you said that was what the NRA was trying to protect, I’d support you 100%.(Heston with his 1861 Civil War Carbine)

It’s totally true that guns don’t kill people, or at least rarely- about the only way you can kill someone with a gun is to beat them to death with it.There is no point in outlawing guns. They are out there, there are millions, they are made of metal and will last for a thousand years if they are kept oiled. Failing that, I could find materials in my basement that would produce a workable gun, and it doesn’t take much knowledge of the subject to figure out how to do it.BULLETS, on the other hand, are time consuming to make and require special equipment. Production of enough to do serious damage would require planning and patience that are not characteristic of those who shoot up elementary schools. And, working on such a project might attract the attention of someone sane.Bullets can be individually stamped, and their sale can be registered and entered into a computer base. They can be tracked from production to use, so that every bullet can be traced back to the person who purchased it. This way, a guy who wants to buy a couple boxes of bullets to go shoot deer, or the woman who wants a box to keep with the gun in her bedside drawer, won’t set off any warning bells. But the guy who is buying an arsenal will attract attention before he finds a more lethal way to do it.

The shooter used a Bushmaster .223 semiautomatic rifle, so why are you calling that a “handgun”? You lied about “over 50,000 gun laws”, so why should we believe you about anything else? I’ll believe the media over you.

Personally, I get my information from the international news networks – so I’ve seen that a Bushmaster AR-15 was used..Help me out here: Where do you get “handguns only”?

if just 5 million gun control proponents joined the NRA, they could change the charter, get rid of the 50,000 gun laws that the gun nutz say don’t work, and implement 1 or 2 gun control laws that DO work.

“…we need to get rid of all lobbyists, the federal reserve privately owned bank system, the electorial college, we need short term limits for both houses congress; oh and don’t forget and the supreme court justices.” ~I think you’re on to something here…these are solid ideas for improving the state of our federal government and our nation as a whole…What you have suggested is a list of the key reasons why our government system is BROKEN. These would be essential fixes to steer the nation back to some semblance of accountability an’ responsibility, not to mention effective progress for fiscal stability. Of course, all the reasons for why we so desperately NEED these changes are the very same reasons why they will NEVER EVER be taken up or implemented. When’s the last time our ‘elected public officials’ took up any actions which would limit their influence, limit their time in power, or limit their sources of revenue???… (‘do you hear the music from ’Jeopardy’ playing in the background?…) OK – I’ll spot you the answer: NEVER. If you think for even one minute that our so-called ‘representatives’ will EVER consciously take actions that could diminish their power, reduce their wealth, or limit their voter base…in other words, DO WHAT IS RIGHT for We, The People (an’ for America, the Nation) in an unselfish or altruistic manner…well, that’s just plain crazy…‘None of us will ever live to see that…the system is far too broken for that to ever happen. Of course I know that this is a very pessimistic diatribe. I can’t help the fact that I also believe it to be true. I really don’t know WHAT Obama’s agenda really is…I firmly believe that America’s best interests are not a part of it, though. He’s made far too many decisions that fly in the face of preserving the Constitution an’ the nation as any of us over thirty know it…The HoR, Senate, an’ even the Judiciary are all so irrevocably flawed an’ broken as to make even baby steps in the responsible direction nearly impossible. I have no idea what sort of president Mitt Romney would have made – we will never know. I DO believe that America most certainly did NOT need another four years like the last four years. ‘May GOD in Heaven bless this nation an’ save it from further harm. Give us the strength an’ wisdom to – at the very least – stop digging deeper the hole in which we find ourselves.

First of all, put very little stock in anything the libmedia says, regardless.-——————————————I don’t believe “Tagesschau” is in that category..I asked you specifically for the sources that provide your information and quoted your “handguns only” remark..You’ve answered neither of my questions and attempted to divert the discussion to “assault weapon” – I’m beginning to get the impression that your posts are not to be taken seriously.
