I took that differently. I thought Arlo was saying Janis was too skinny back then and that he liked that she eventually ‘filled out’.

This is weird, my girlfriend was 101 pounds, when I met her but she had wonderful curves, I was 129 pounds and was considered way too skinny!

She seemed to like me, so eventually we got married!

Been happy ever after though we have both gained a few pounds!

I also think he is complementing her. He likes her filled out.

How old were A&J when they met? Was it some time after they graduated from college? And she was still skinny then?

Arlo was just commenting about two or three localities.

Actually that can be taken two ways, as in, I like you best the way you are.

He was probably referring to her boobs.

When I joined the Navy I was 5’11", 119 pounds with a 27 inch waist. After a few months working aboard ship I was 158 pounds with a 30 inch waist. Too bad I still don’t have that stomach and chest.

Each guy has a preference for shapes of a girl, though we can see the beauty in all shapes. The face and her shape usually gets his attention first (first test). Her personality comes next (second test) and then the dating cycle starts. However, our personal preference on a shape never really changes. Most guys would appreciate a few extra pounds on a skinny girl, if that brings her shape to his personal preference (ie. Arlo). All that being said, though, it’s the woman’s personality regardless of her shape or size, that keeps the man and visa versa…..

Her toes are very white, too.
