@Linguist Today’s strip IS funny, but I think it’s a repeat , our HERO Mr Andrew Capp has won some cash at the bookies for a change and he has a glib answer to the interfering Cleric :o) there is a joke that if you cut out wimmen and wine you won’t feel like singing :o) my avatar is parody of a picture of the logo on computer microchips Intel inside but like in my case there’s an Idiot outside :o) how was your day my younger old friend now that your adopted grandson seem to be improving ? our day should be busy and unless our voluntary isolation sets us fighting each other , we should survive , a bientot mon ami
Andy at least allocates some of his money to booze, unlike George Raft who reportedly went through 10 million dollars during his career. “Part of the loot went for gambling, part for horses, and part for women. The rest I spent foolishly.”
Like plenty of other cities, counties, states, and countries, Kansas City is now under lockdown. Technically, we’re “sheltering in place” although some people are no doubt “hiding” in place, and others are “cowering” in place. (As for me, I’m “hanging around the house.”) I’m lucky, though: I have at least twenty of the old Andy Capp paperback collections. Plus there’s this newfangled “internet” thing I’ve heard rumors about……..

Andy’s probably betting that neither the virus nor news of Johnson’s virtual lockdown will reach Hartlepool. Let’s hope.

He won’t be doing a flash the cash in front of Flo! If she finds out he’s got some ready, his poker face will be no match for the poker in her hand!

Don’t waste it by giving it to the vicar.
