Avatar is a photo of a Big Boy plastic coin bank from the '60's when I worked there Big Boy Comic books were published by Timely Comics (now Marvel) . They were written and drawn by legends Stan Lee, Bill Everett, Sol Brodsky, and Dan DeCarlo.

    Ah, yes. The Grumman G-21 Goose. One summer I was a ’Plane Stopper" at Catalina. They coast up to the split pier and two of you stop them by grabbing the wing (away from the still slowly spinning props). Then two of you tie it down to the pier, open the front nose cargo hatch and unload the luggage. The third opens the door and helps passengers out. Then you grab your mask and snorkel and jump in the water and wave your hands. They throw coins for you to dive for. Poor vision keeps you from seeing anything less than a quarter :) Plane seats eight plus one fold down (window) seat on the door. Anyone who sits there gets a bath, ’cause the old WWII door seals are long gone. Summer of ’60

    Stump grinder!I live in a pine forested area. Sometimes a tree is diseased and you have to cut it down. Tree cutters don’t want to get their chainsaw in the dirt so they always cut above ground level. Now you can trip over the stump or get a stump grinder and grind it down below ground level !
