   I’ve had one friend (now retired) raped by a fellow soldier in Kuwait, and we know that female soldiers in the Iraq/Afghan theaters are told to avoid walking alone within the perimeter, and that’s not out of fear of insurgents. I think Trudeau is touching on an important subject (better than the actual news does).

   I’m a liberal and I have no problem with guns. I have one, and a concealed carry permit. I just find the circumstances where I need to carry one very limited. I see no need to carry one in Starbucks unless it’s late night in a questionable area. Situational awareness has kept me fairly safe for the better part of 4 decades.

   That said, I’d really appreciate not being called a “gun hatin’ liberal” just because I have different beliefs. Thanks.

   Just a note: if the gearbox is damaged, they are going to need to sling the bird out of there. No sane pilot is going to fly a bird with damage to the transmission gearbox unless death is the only other alternative, because it will probably kill you.

   Actually it’s right in line with most USO shows out in the hinterlands. Usually groups no one has heard of plus a sprinkling of past their prime acts, and every once and again an up to date popular act. It’s a rare event to get someone who’s currently hot on the charts to show up.
