@Number Three (from yesterday.) I grew up with Andy Capp. My father was the big fan, he had most of the books and I read them over and over. I still have them!

No trouble, he traded his pants for it

An interesting story to be sure, if Andy remembers it.

Re yesterday – Can, yes; Soft Machine not so much. I prefer Caravan as a “softer” Soft Machine. I believe David Sinclair (keyboards) was poached by Robert Wyatt for Matching Mole.

I almost forgot. Raise a glass today to celebrate the birth in 1852 of Dr. John Watson, the associate and biographer of Sherlock Holmes.

My all-time favorite Andy Excuse goes something like this:

Flo: Alright, let’s hear it.Andy: It’s such a long story, I don’t want to get into it now. You’ll read about it in tomorrow’s paper, anyway.

Flo, Andy can’t tell you what he doesn’t remember.

They certainly are – but let’s have a drink anyway….who needs an excuse?

I’d love to see Andy use my favorite excuse. First through his hat through the door first, the holler: " Don’t pay the ransom, honey ! I’ve escaped. "

I would never have thought that Andy would wear spotty boxers… but then I have never before given any thought to Andy’s undies. I wish that situation had continued.
