Flask and Petey hardly look worried though poor Holly is freaking. Admittedly, all the nasties up on the surface might be harder for Holly to deal with than she thinks. Wally’s doing a pretty good job of dealing with this himself, it seems! I’m in agreement that this may solidify Flask’s opinion of him.

A few more knots and they’ll have the under-structure for a fairly decent group tent. All that’s needed now is another mutant to happen by with a stretchable skin… And viola – base camp!

Obviously Wally has surface smarts and Flask realizes that. How else could he have survived all that time alone up top. I just wonder if there is something bigger attached to those things.

So, what, Flask is just going to stand there and stare while Wally gets himself out of trouble? This is not convincing me that she’s not lacking brain power.

Based on Flask’s lack of reaction, I’m guessing that the creature Wally is tying into knots is an ally that Flask failed to inform the team of.

Or it attacked the closest one & is now too busy defending itself to go for the others.

Under the sand there’s a monster thinking, “Oh, Wally’s back.”

Does anyone else have the feeling that he’s done this before?.Do they celebrate X-mas in Endtown? He’d be the best giftwrapper ever!

Wally just earned several more respect points for not (knot, the pun is awful) only solving a problem quickly, but also for doing it upside down and surrounded on all sides, being tied up himself. That takes skill. His expression in panel 2 clinches it all. Which is why I like it so much.

The creature’s one natural enemy, the Boy Scout.
