“If you ever consider…” says Flask “Putting her safety before the mission…” “Why, dear Blackie,” I’m tempted to ask, “Aren’t you making a major omission?”“For it wasn’t all that long ago, Has your memory gotten much shorter? When you risked it all (quite a show!) Just to salvage the damaged transporter!” When she did that, we all will recall Just how frantic she was in that scene But the safety of those in her thrall Was at risk when she risked the machine That was built by the Prof for protection She’d no idea that it would still work Way back then she had made that selection Here and now, she’s just being a jerk Or at least, that is how she’s appearing But of course, she can’t see her own fault She is competent, yes, but she’s veering At least she has not called a halt! =|====/ Level Head Vote for Endtown 2.0 And for Doc Rat, too The Endtown Forum

    Assorted thoughts:

I think Miss Kitty needs some Luvin!Wally would have been more distracted wondering if he would ever see Holly again.Wally may be good; but I don’t think he’s that good!Is there more to the tragic story of Petey and Blackie than meets the eye? Perhaps its a tale of love and woe or perhaps guilt and pain.Guilt and regret can make a person turn real ugly.

It is Flask’s neck on the line. If the mission fails, Mallard whacks her. And she’s not getting a lot of support from anyone. And Topsiders do tend to be less than understanding if you accidentally call attention to yourself while “adjusting” their rockets. Cut her some slack – not all of her tension comes from being celibate.

So Mallard whacks her – she zapped two of her own and would have mindripped Al….I felt sorry for the horsey guy…

Holly could go along as their hobbit. They’ll find they need her yet.

On Flask’s behalf, remember that if she seems tense, she is worried about the mission It’s not a picnic. It’s not even a foraging expedition. If they fail, all Endtown dies.

    I adore the final close-up.

The final close-up says to me that Flask is fiercely (fanatically?) loyal to the mission and to Endtown. We be knowin’ already that she is ruthless.

Flask does have a point, of course. The crack about “Mister Wallechinsky’s objectivity” is an interesting one, and a plot point for the near future. Otherwise, she’s quite right.

Oh, I bet this mission is endangered because someone thinks of putting another persons safety in front of the missions. But I don’t think it will be Wally or Holly doing it.

Drop the matter at hand and back away slowly. Arguments are not warranted when someone is acting like that. And then you get the awkward silence directly after.

Wally needs to tell Flask to take a hike. He owes her nothing and isn’t under any requirement to do what she says.

Flask is the one that needs HIM, not the other way around.

Bottom line: This isn’t the military, and Wally’s a volunteer. Now use Holly as a resource instead of viewing her as a hindrance….Ms. Dingleberry.

Flask’s in charge, even though hypocritical With her flaws and ferocity and fear And this snide bit of socio-political Can they still see the mission from here? She’s at least shaken off the distraction And is moving on. I think it’s good Now the rocket’s the coming attraction Can our Holly help? I’d bet she could =|====/ Level Head Vote for Endtown 2.0 And for Doc Rat, too The Endtown Forum

Blackie needs a tranquilizer.I guess that medicine is hard to obtain in Endtown.Holly’s friend, that “rat” doctor (don’t remember his name) should check Blackie over. She may need medicine than they HAVE in Endtown!

Wally and Holly do have incentives to follow Flask’s orders – if the rocket launches, the recon satellite will guarantee they’ll be caught and/or eliminated, too. Holly doesn’t want to lose Endtown, and Wally knows this. They can’t mutiny against Flask and continue the mission themselves, either, because they don’t know the enemy base like she might (and Flask is the only one fully committed to killing anyone in her way). The “sad truth” is that Flask wins this round.
