There’s some guy running for senate or dogcatcher or something dumpty endorsed. He claims residents of nursing homes votes are invalid because they can be filled in by caregivers because they are too senile to know who they are voting for. Trust me, don’t p**s off the elderly, we aren’t as out of it as you think we are. I am 72 and still do the New York Times crossword puzzle in ink everyday. I’ll run rings around the MAGGAT booger eating base.
The thing is, that MAGAts no longer even listen to his speeches or statements in terms of complete sentences, let alone paragraphs.
When he says really stupid things like “We have to be crime back to law and order.”, all they hear are a couple phrases, like ‘crime’ and ‘law & order’ and they cheer like hell. They don’t know what they are even cheering for, just that they have heard the triggering words and / or phrases.
Trump has no coherent policy about anything except lower taxes for rich people and corporations and they don’t even understand that none of that will benefit any of them.
.
MAGAts’ only other ‘policy’ has been Hatred Of Obama, followed by Hatred Of Hillary, now transitioned to Hatred Of Biden.
All of them should be locked up because Trump has presidential immunity.
Imagine being an ASL interpreter at his rally. Might be the reason we do not see one. Of course, as he said about disabled veterans, he does not want to be associated with “those kind of people “.
But the credit for destroying public education goes way back. Quite a bit with super-hypocrite Bill Bennett, Secretary of anti-Education back in the ‘80s. Last I heard he was still around and supporting the orange puppet, fruit of Bill’s poisoned schools.
If he actually took the Montreal Test (which I doubt he did) he would have known ahead of time the questions and practiced or had the five words: face, church, red, velvet, daisy written down. Proof?? He was unable to recall any of the actual words and could only come up with man, woman, person, camera, TV. Or even more likely he just order Dr Ron to say he “aced” it.
It’s only sarcasm if you do it intentionally to mock someone. No cluelessly. Trump would happily do it maliciously though, there is no bottom to the level of low to which he and his ilk will not stoop.
Why is there never a Sunday strip of a satirical nature of that dementia filled talking head the Dems have to run against him? Too much financial power to run up against? Fear of retribution.I think you are a coward Trudeau.
I wonder why Mr. Trudeau doesn’t care to mention some of Biden’s foibles, such as:Repeatedly pooping his pantsFalling down (or up) stairsWalking around aimlessly in circlesNot being able to put two sentences together without a prompterMaking up life stories and putting himself, Zelig like, in numerous scenarios and places he has never been inPlagiarizing speeches from other politiciansLying about his son’s cause of deathIgnoring his granddaughter, trying to ignore Hunter’s anticsI could go on but you get the point…But agenda driven grifting cartoonists can be like that…
Back in the Republican primary debates of 2016, conservative pundit David Brooks said that Ted Cruz had an IQ 30 points higher than Trump’s. I did the math, and realized Cruz was at an even 100…..
I thought maybe it was going to be like when you use arithmetic to put a measurement in context. I’ve passed the test Trump took a couple of times. I sometimes call our current cat by the name of one of her predecessors. I always apologize to her.
Truly sad what has happened to my Florida. Born and raised here. 4th generation. Still is beautiful in a few parts that have not been sold to the highest bidder.
You’ll notice that most MAGAts on this forum don’t actually list any of Trump’s supposed good qualities or accomplishments. Instead they resort to irrelevancies like “you’ve all got TDS” or “so’s Joe Biden”. It wasn’t always like this. Some of them actually used to claim that Trump was a good president, with many successes in office (strong military, prison reform, expanded workforce, detestation of immigrants, others). Well, let’s indulge in the fantasy that all of that is completely true, that all his goals were worthy and he accomplished them spectacularly well.
Let me respond using an analogy. Suppose you have a wonderful neighbor who helps mow lawns and shovel sidewalks, regularly donates blood, is kind to children and animals, serves as a poll worker, volunteers at a food pantry, and always buys Girl Scout cookies. Oh, and he also took a meat cleaver to his wife.
Substitute “tried to overthrow the US government” for that meat-cleaver bit, and you’ll understand why there aren’t enuf Girl Scout cookies in the world to redeem Donald Trump.
Off-Topic: There’s a webcomic that was one of my favorite strips for over twenty years. Charming characters, intriguing locations, thought-provoking story arcs, romance (gay and otherwise), adventure, poetry, satire, film homages, left-wing politics, and, of course, HUMOR. It was GREAT. It wasn’t by any means perfect, mind you, but it was GREAT.
Then, some time last year, something…happened in the artist’s life, and everything twisted into an opposite world view: Racism, anti-feminism, homophobia, transphobia, anti-immigrant sentimens, anti-vaxx rhetoric, baseless personal attacks on Biden, and RABID anti-semitism, worse that I’ve seen since Foreskin Man #2 ^ . The guy was out-Dave-Simming Dave Sim ^ . I held on for a while, hoping that this would be just, I don’t know, a phase or something — the strip had gone through many changes of focus over the years — but I finally recognized that that was how it was going to be from now on (unless he changes again in another twenty years or so). It was just going to keep offending me and appalling me every morning and it was probably going to get even worse.
So I stopped reading the strip. Problem solved.
Maybe the Trudeau bashers in here could stop reading THIS strip. Problem solved.
^ so look ’em up, what am I, your mother, that I should spoon-feed you…?
I wonder if Garry Trudeau does his own coloring. It would be hard to provide sufficiently precise instructions to a colorist about how to apply Disaster Pumpkin’s phony “suntan”.
He rarely completes a sentence when not reading from a teleprompter. When in doubt, he throws in some old, long-disproved lie. If he comes on too strong, he knows the media will be happy to publish the next day that it was a joke. The “jokes” are wearing thin.
The Washington Post reported that his campaign mostly releases videos rather than having him speak in person where they can’t control when his dementia mangles his words, especially the word endings. That’s one reason why having him debate Biden is so important: people need to see how he really is now.
