Folks, don’t kill or mess around with bees. They do so much more good to this world than bad. If you don’t mess with them, they won’t mess with you.

There are certain bees you can’t mess with, including the Bubble Bee. They don’t bother you, they just go about their business collecting pollen and fertilizing flowers.

Probably shouldn’t have done that in the first place, Calvin. If you see a bee’s nest (or a hornet’s nest or a wasp’s nest or anything similar), I would just keep your distance from it.

Love this comic. Panel 4 perfectly captures pure terror. And the huge bee is how it seems to a child. Yes, Calvin deserved the sting. And be thankful it wasn’t a wasp or hornet- they’re even more painful.

The only time I’ve ever been stung by a bee is when I accidentally stepped on one while barefoot.

    .

The bee may also have been barefoot, but I never had time to check.

I love Bill Watterson’s realistic bug drawings. And then in the winter when the wasps and bees are in hibernation, static electricity takes their place in stinging you, and it’s often the one you least expect (compared to with wasps and bees where you can try to avoid them). ti “YOWW!”

I’m with Calvin regarding wasps and hornets. They’re out to get you with a vengeance and should be incinerated on sight. Honey bees and bumblebees deserve to live a long and fruitful life.

I am afraid the national guard radar would not be able to detect the bee, since it is not metal and the altitude is low. Yes, an affectionate soothing care by mom can surely help you. Love the cute twosome in the last panel.
