NO in modern times Republican Senators were finding their constituents angry and wanting things stopped.

Senator, here’s a free bit of wisdom: Don’t do stupid things in the first place.

The Republican program has been based on lies for many years, lies they could disguise because they weren’t fully in power. Now, their followers expect results, but none are possible.

Maybe he DID pick up a bit of wisdom, and is staying away from the people he lied to, chiseled, defrauded, and generally shafted starting the day after he was sworn in!

Senator: “I don’t need wisdom for my job, I don’t need truth because I’ve already formed my opinions, and I don’t need facts because I’ve already been elected to office. What I do need is a new flame-proof butt cover. You selling?”

Awe, quit picking on the Democratic voters…All they want to do is help people that need help…Republicans don’t want to do that for some reason………

Burning all politicians because of their choice of political party, is like shunning entire races of people because a few members show vicious natures.

From what history tells us, there is no race immune from that trait, whether in the past and ‘edited out’ of current philosophy or still actively pursued by a few.

Spraying all opposition with the taint of evil is just wasted effort. There is common ground, but curses and vituperation are not the paths to finding it.

    @cerabooge

    You prove my point.

Either one accepts that there are some in the ‘other’ party that are worthy of attention or one shuns them entirely.

Your statement does not allow any room for negotiation, and, therefore, no possibility of solutions based on common goals.

    Welcome to stalemate.

Gotta luv it—reps “won,” they’re “in charge,” and they won’t hold town hall meetings. Don’t they have the “courage of their convictions”?

A congressman’s first duty is to get re-elected. His second duty is to please those who invest in his campaign. His third duty is to his Party and in some cases, the President and if there is time left over, he could think about his constituents.

Yeah, this is very familiar. Nine years ago it was the democrats running from their town hall meetings after voting for a bill no one was supposed to read until it was a law.

The more things change, the more they remain the same…

    or…

All things old are new again.

    Take your pick!
