Neighbor: Can I help you? Rat: Hey, neighbor Bob... Just wanted to show you my new doofus-ometer. It beeps to warn me of approaching doofi. Neighbor: It's your phone. And you've set the alarm to go off any second because it gives you a juvenile thrill to call me a 'doofus.' Rat: I've lost the element of surprise.

I see some doofus at GoComics has decided we need more ads on the scroll between the comic and the Comments.

This strip lost the element of surprise some time ago.The only reason I stay with it is the pithy comments.

He needs to up his game with facial recognition software and a Doofus Alarm App that can gather data from the environment and respond appropriately.

With all of the Doofi that’s out there, a Doofus-Ometer is unnecessary.

Hey Rat, the element of Surprise that you lost, Si , can be found on the periodic table at number fourteen, between Al and P .

I clipped a Dilbert comic a while back that has Dogbert inventing a stupidity detector (that looks like a divining rod). “First you point it at someone,” he says. Dilbert asks, “Then what?” Dogbert replies, “Why does it have to do anything else?”.(Note that I’d rather type that all out than bother to go and find a link).

The ads are useful, sometimes. I don’t use Amazon that often, but when I do browse for something, Amazon ads for that product show up here and on other sites. Creepy. But then I noticed Amazon ads for red iPod Nanos. That’s strange, I don’t remember browsing for them. I checked my browse history on Amazon, and sure enough, it showed someone browsing for red iPod Nanos in my browse history. Someone must have hacked my account and and browsed for, but did not buy, red iPod Nanos. So I quickly changed my password. Now I’m reluctant to block all ads because of this experience, though with Firefox you can block images from specific external sites.

Who knew Neighbour Bob was so quick?

To the AdBlocker fans.
Do the ads (for removing armpit hair?!) intermingled with the comics under “Our Recommendations” go away?

Well, rat is back to being his ol self…. or trying to. It seems while rat was on maternity leave, and decapitated by one of the comic mafia family, neighbor Bob wised up. What wonders never cease? Welcome back vermin.

I think Doofae would be the plural of Doofum. I only know it all has to do with sex, but then again what doesn’t?
