If Bert cares to come out of retirement occasionally, I’m sure there are many companies where employees would pay him to do his thing.. I would. Consultants here have infested our managers’ brains with business clichés and they parrot them all the time. If I hear “Pick the low-hanging fruit” one more time ….A “New Yorker” cartoon by DIFFEE: Two detectives ponder a dead body on the ground before them. One says to the other, “From the violent nature of the multiple stab wounds, I’d say the victim was probably a consultant.”.$200 an hour, Bert!

Add “Well…” at the beginning of a sentence. As in: “How old are you?” “Well, I’m…” Just forget the “well” and say what you have to say.

You are my favorite comic artist/writer by a mile. I got such a kick out of today’s, as I’m sick to death hearing ‘at the end of the day’…all the pols and journalists use it…gag me with a spoon…it makes me cringe. The first 500 times were doable, but geeze. Anyway, thank you! Give me back ‘When all is said and done’ …my favorite all time cartoon of yours is Moses and the Screenwriter. …I’m a screenwriter. Your cartoons all over my bulletin board.
