Something’s fishy here. That’s the thing about fishwives. From the smell, you can’t tell if they’ve been working or are horny.

A nearly life-size image can be found here. A smaller, click-to-enlarge image can be found here, or at the only work by this artist, so far, to appear in Mr. Melcher’s blog.Fisherman’s Family is shown by its current-location page. About half its most popular online images found by Google show them facing in the opposite direction, even with different colorations.Perhaps that’s because of the lithograph the artist made a few years earlier, which had them facing that direction (I guess the online image colors were stolen from this painting). Its title says they’re from Blankenberge. The artist’s Wikipedia page (Google translated French Wikipedia page has more) and collection.

She wouldn’t bread his fish stick, so he took it elsewhere. She might batter it now.

Thanks, coolhand000 – I was hoping someone would make a silly political statement that had nothing to do with anything.

She’s working her rosary. Probably praying that the kd gets into Harvard Law, and stays off the water. Unless he acquires a yacht.
