    Mmmm! Asparagus on toast! Now I feel bad because it will be some time before spring asparagus is ready to steam. (Of course, there will be $5/pound asparagus available from time to time for those richer than I am!)

    Peasant Women with Brushwood is described by its current-location page (if the image doesn’t show up, click either of the full size image links on the right, the lower one shows a larger image).

    The artist also did it in charcoal. I had never heard the term faggot in that regard before (thanks @runar!). It found a couple more works by this artist with a similar theme. His Wikipedia page and collection (more under Subcategories at each level).

    So far, 2 works by this artist have appeared in Mr. Melcher’s blog.
