It’s a flytrap, which means it’s an insectivore, so Spud ought to be safe. Unless he stumbles into a malfunctioning teleportation device with a fly, and he mutates … well, then that flytrap is in for the biggest lunch of its lifetime …

As long as it doesn’t turn into Audrey, Jr., Spud, you’ll be fine.

I had one of those when I was a kid (mail order from the back of a comic book). If I couldn’t catch any flies, I would feed it a little ball of hamburger…

Carnivorous plants make me nervous. See, they’ve evolved independently at least 9 different times. It seems plants really, really want to devour us.

So…Spud’s mom got a venus flytrap to put in his room…because she thought it’d look “nice?”

She must have very interesting ideas for decor…

Here’s a point: unless there are flies routinely buzzing around the house, the plant might starve.

I have an idea: don’t feed it for a couple of weeks then bring Sterling by for a visit…
